I'm seriously amazed that ANYONE is defending Apple here.

That is ok, between this post and your previous post, I am surprised you are still here. Because you are offering so much to this conversation by just saying that all of the Apple people are just koolaid drinking fanboys. Really.

Here's a few quick ones.
NATO still musters formidable military capability when the US contribution is excluded. I don't think it's fair to say that "the US -is- the NATO military", even if we are the biggest component.

419.9 mb on my 32GB 3GS
D.
419.9MB for me with 16GB 3Gs.
Different builds depending on device? Someone with multiple devices might be able to confirm that (if they have to download different builds, or possibly, if your iTunes manages multiple devices, that accounts for bigger downloads that accommodate multiple devices instead of just one).

In addition to my promise to run around naked and post the video to the Internet if iMac gets Conroe, I will do the same if they introduce a phone at WWDC.
Im holding that to you.

That's HOT (figuratively and literally)!! I think the only way you could pull that off is with an external tuner, just like laptops have an external power supply.
Does a TV tuner add THAT much heat? Plus, with 23" of real estate to play with I would think that they could find a way to keep the heat down

Owning software /= professional. Skill and natural talent for editing make you a professional. A real pro can cut footage on any system, any piece of software and doesn't rely on apps to do it for them. It's a tool that they use to do what they do faster and more efficiently so they can maximize their time/profits.
To certain degree I see what he is saying...
If I am correct then the point is that this new way of editing will open up more time for novice editors to spend more time developing editing techniques and styles rather then getting to grips with the software needed to do the job.
I don't think the pro software makes the editor a pro, but it will be a lot more of a smooth transition when using the new FCPX.

Nice update for those who want an iMac. Decent bump for the Mac mini too..
I'm sure the MBP will be updated soon and possibly the MB..
Like many others, I'm waiting for something more powerful and expandable than a Mac mini, but not as expensive as a Mac Pro and does not have an integrated LCD like an iMac (I have a 24" Dell already).
Something like:
1.83 Ghz Core Duo 2 (Conroe)
512 gig Ram (4 memory slots)
160Gig 3.5" SATA Drive (and one additonal empty bay)
Dual Layer Superdrive
PCIe Video Card (ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300GT)
1 additional PCI slot
Bluetooth/Airport
in something like a mini-tower case (about 2/3 size of Mac Pro)
Starting about what the iMac starts at ($1199)... With a more loaded one
2.16Ghz, 1Gig Ram, 250Gig HD, better video (say 7600GT) going up to $1599 or so...
Crossing my fingers for the 12th!

Not being an American, I won't wade into Constitutional issues ...
Obama is quite within his rights according to the War Powers Resolution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Powers_Resolution) ...
The War Powers Resolution requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days, with a further 30 day withdrawal period, without an authorization of the use of military force or a declaration of war. The resolution was passed by two-thirds of Congress, overriding a presidential veto.

I'm sure the iPod will have sharing capabilities eventually. But the technology isn't there for quick enough transfers yet. When it becomes a non-geek activity that's when it'll be in the iPod, i.e. when it's as easy as sending an SMS message. In fact, sharing seems like an activity more suited to phones than iPods at the moment.

Photobucket, Flickr, etc. None of them accurately show the color in this photo as I see it straight off of the card. It's a lot warmer before the upload. Oh well:cool:

I don't know if it's technically feasible now, but I'd like to see Apple remove the bezels across their mobile line. The resulting form factor would be awesome.

Why such a great camera on the iphone and such loser ones on the ipad?
Because the iPad one isnt expected to be widely used for photography, just for certain uses like Facetime or Augmented Reality stuff. Making the camera more decent on the iPad would have increased thickness unnecessarily in a product where a thinner "pad" is much more usable.

Interesting.... and what is your prediction for International (Int) since we won't get the iPad before the end of April ? I also believed that once, but with different date for the iPad release (US vs Int) and knowing that about 50% of the sales are Int, I'm not sure about that anymore. End of April will be a shame for Apple... Friends around me already have there i7 laptop... but of course, they had to pay the ultimate price... being on Windows
May, at the earliest; June ?

The 2.0 model also includes 4MB L2 cache instead of "just" 2MB L2 cache... remember the days when we used to measure L2 in increments of 256KB?
One more reason to stay away from the 1.83 model.
However, for some people it also means to stay away from Apple altogether...
I remember the days when processor cache was an altogether new thing. Am I really that old?

This is America, and that person DOES NOT NEED TO JUSTIFY HERSELF TO YOU! If that V10 Excursion ever gets in an accident with your "95+ MPG" car, it will illustrate one very good reason to drive an Excursion, and you will not survive. Even with a five star crash rating, these newer lighter cars are death traps when fitted against large SUVs, these crash ratings do not take into account the advantage created by additional weight. Also, if your considering CO2 as "pollution", are you aware of the fact that only 0.28% of all greenhouse gasses are from human activity ? Not 28%, but 0.28%, the rest is mainly water vapor. With all of the resources that the world is throwing at reducing CO2 emissions we could actually do something useful instead like end world hunger. What we are doing to reduce CO2 is kind of like pissing into the ocean to warm it up, maybe it makes you better but it will not work. Enjoy that "95MPG" golf cart you drive.
Haha, I'll also enjoy my $35/month full coverage and $7/week gas allowance.
I haven't done the research myself so I can't refute your points about greenhouse gases, but I can say that our dependence on foreign oil has caused a multitude of problems in this country and I don't think anyone would argue with that.
Oh and by the way, if you eliminate the V10 Excursion from the equation, there's nothing for my 95MPG vehicle to get in a crash with now is there? We live in a nation of excess and it's shortsighted and narrow-minded people like you that are the reason for these problems being perpetuated throughout generations.

They make cars in the US, and domestic cars are typically less expensive than foreign ones. This argument really doesn't fly.
Stop making excuses for US companies that build their products elsewhere. We CAN manufacture things in this country; we used to do it a lot more and the products were affordable.
My Apple IIe says "Made in the USA" on the bottom. It's sad that we never see that on computers anymore.
But do Americans REALLY want to be building laptops/ipods/ipads? i think society in developed countries such as the states has vigorously changed since 20 years ago.
