They don't even have most of these in the stores and want you to order online.
If you do that you better use digikey.
Radio Shack will be out of the RETAIL business within 3-5 years IMO.
Nothing in there one needs.
Are you serious??? What about them there those walkie talkies???

Uh, yes really. I deal with manufacturers professionally. Unless something is labor intensive and low value added (like clothing,) the only reason to manufacture in China is for the currency exchange rates and lax environmental laws.
Why do you think Haier, a Chinese company, is profitably manufacturing in South Carolina?
It looks pretty labour intensive to me...

I've always felt that WW2 was justified though the way we ended the war was unfortunate and un-necessary.
World War Two is a pretty bad example for pointing out a justified war. Consider the 28 long months that the US sat and watched. Consider that Pearl Harbor was not just a spur-of-the-moment attack perpetrated by a madman but a response to what was considered an aggressive position taken by the US (cutting off oil exports to Japan).
There was an organization called "America First" which lobbied hard to remain neutral in the face of that conflict over there in Europe (because a great many Americans — including JFK — were of the opinion that WWI was entered for the benefit of the bankers). America First even objected to Lend-Lease, without which Britain might well have fallen to the German assault.
If America had taken a timely, proactive interest in protecting her allies from Germany's empire-building adventurism, millions of lives would probably have been spared. This is the lesson we should take thence. Blithely allowing crazy leaders to pursue empire unchecked is a recipe for worse to come. What happens elsewhere is not necessarily somebody-else's-problem.

you can judge me all you want ... my family is both Canadian and American.
I live on both sides of the border.
sorry if I do not support everyone's Anti-American Military views.
Cutting the Military is not for me ... Even though I would have to pay higher taxes, I'd rather scrap all these Government Casinos and Government Bookies we have up in Canada than reduce even one dollar in Military spending.
We're not Anti-military, we're anti-spending billions on crap we don't need. Like extremely expensive fighter jets, as if we get into dogfights with the Taliban.

And it will be called:
iPad 3D.
You heard it here first folks.
No, I actually heard it first from the guy a few spots above you...
"iPad 3 - iPad 3D
I could really see that, with the iPhone 3G (it was actually the 3rd phone) and had 3G."

I got 2 MacBooks for my business and i just got them shipped to me the other day, i installed the SMC Firmware update and tested the machine under the core-duo test for 45 minutes and nothing.
I did notice the fan was going like a jet engine and was waitin for the macbook to lunch off the desk but that never happend
when checked the temp before the test it was 40 C ... during the test it was 78 C ... after the test it went down to 56 C and it stayed like that for 45 minutes on idel before it went down to 45 C
how do i know if the heat sink on my MacBooks have been replaces or not, they were both costom orderd MBs and i did wait 1 month to get them from apple website

Toys R Us have been a retailer since day 1. There is no broadening here. And using multiple retail outlets means that Apple is not limited in the territories it covers with its own store chain. That is why since day 1, multiple retail chains have carried the iPad 2.
Well aware of the other outlets, but not Toys R Us. So why is this story presented as news?

Thanks for the kind words! I've only been really shooting for a year so I've been trying to get out and shoot as much as possible. I try to post a bunch and get as much criticism as possible to help me improve. It's nice when someone really likes a shot!
That shot is fantastic. outstanding light, nice bokeh, beautiful subject!
Mine for today.
no worries man :) thats good, I've only really been shooting a year and a half but the amount of time I get to shoot is nothing! yeah that's the best thing to do, and posting here is a great way to get critique on your shots! haha well I did!
And thanks :D hope your not just saying that cause I like yours :p
Here is the EXIF data from the photo.
EXIF Summary: 1/3000s f/4.0 ISO160 200mm (35mm eq:401mm)
Camera-Specific Properties:
Equipment Make: OLYMPUS IMAGING CORP.
Camera Model: E-5
Edit: They make some nice lenses for that camera. Nice to see something that didn't turn out to be Nikon of Canon.

thanks, was on my dads computer so I couldn't look easily! cheers for that, interesting.. never really read into that camera, its a supposed 'professional one'.. interesting 35mm equivalent though, weird sensor size?

Forgot to mention this was the first shoot with my new speedlight. Decided to get one rather than upgrade to a fullframe (few more months :) ). Still loving this little Rebel XS.
duuude.. your photos have improved so much! I remember when you first started posting on here I wasn't too keen on your shots (if I'm going to be totally honest) but this is such a major improvement, that is such a damn nice shot! Nice work with the new flash, I really need to get one, shows what messing with light can do! did you bounce the flash off anything? what lens did you use? your getting fantastic shots out of that little camera man, I had one for a year before getting my t2i. Anyway, keep up the good work, your portraiture work is great :)
Olympus Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 at f/4, about 50 yards away (it's a fair amount of crop)
I was knee deep in the water- the lens w/ body combo E-5 is weather sealed.Does well even with a 2x teleconverter, which on Olympus makes 400mm = 800mm in 35mm equivalent.. perfect surf setup imo. Here's one wide open with the t/c, original resolution after crop.

ah right, cool! seems like a good camera! I'm one of these devout canon people though :P as I said, interesting sensor size! good pics though :)
mine for today.. typical trees and sunset but I like it, nice view out of my dads window in Cheshire, UK. Shame about the crop but the foreground was a trampoline and some bushes :p

My battery life issue was fixed by turning off the failed music social network PING in the restrictions settings. Once I did that, I get at least 48-72 hours standby if not more and hours of usage and the battery barely budges. It should be turned OFF by default, can anyone with 4.3.1 confirm that PING is in the OFF position at startup?

Unless it's an entirely new OS, like iOS 5 for example, it should be able to recognize what version your device is running and download only the essential features of the following update. Having to download the entire OS (which is over 600mb) every single time is a bit ridiculous.

The developer behind the Facebook app says he's quit the project because off App Store policies. To TechCrunch he said:
"My decision to stop iPhone development has had everything to do with Apples policies. I respect their right to manage their platform however they want, however I am philosophically opposed to the existence of their review process. I am very concerned that they are setting a horrible precedent for other software platforms, and soon gatekeepers will start infesting the lives of every software developer.
The web is still unrestricted and free, and so I am returning to my roots as a web developer. In the long term, I would like to be able to say that I helped to make the web the best mobile platform available, rather than being part of the transition to a world where every developer must go through a middleman to get their software in the hands of users.
The Facebook app is one of the most downloaded apps and is well-respected. Apple cannot afford to lose really good developers because of their lousy policies. This is going to have to cahnge because clearly there is something wrong here.

does anyone else feellike the ipod needs to be quicker? some times it takes like five to ten seconds for it to start playing songs of movies, maybe the interface is so simple that i tell it what to do too fast and get ahead of it? also if you listen to music and browse your pics some times the music skipps. maybe the nvidia chips will cure this?

Wouldn't be a bad idea. Even if they just made "patches" so we aren't downloading half a gb of updates every 2 weeks.
This. Patches are desperately needed for this OS.

Why are you guys all against 3D? I think its great, BUT I think its a given that you will be able to turn off the 3D.. And if that is the case then there is no problem really :P
I reaaally don't think Apple will implement this. It goes against everything they stand for.
-Apple likes ergonomic, comfortable experiences. 3D gives people headaches
-Apple hates styluses and other mandatory accessories. In most implementations of 3D, you have to wear glasses
-Apple is moving toward high-resolution displays. In many implementations, 3D halves the effective resolution
-Apple is all about content - high quality software, UI, etc. 3D encourages gimmicks
-Apple's mobiles have standard-setting battery life. 3D will likely drain batteries - by doubling the rendering requirement, increasing the required backlighting, or by keeping a camera active to track your head.
"3D" screams of unnecessary spec. There are so many drawbacks and so few benefits. If Apple has yet to implement Blu-ray, it will definitely be awhile before we see 3D.
