I have a copy of MS Office 2008 Special Media Edition still sealed in box. It usually retails for $499 at the Apple store (I'll offer it for much less); how much are you looking to spend?
Let's work something out; let me know.
I was really not looking to spend a significant amount of money for one license: $75/ $80?

^ Usually it's the high-resolution that causes eye strain, not the other way around.
Maybe it's the actual screen size that has become too small for you?

Can't get enough of Mr Thorne's antics, the site is funny, the book is hilarious (the moon buggy email is one of his best) , while the Christmas CD is cringe worthy.
Still can't complain about this site (http://www.helpmesellmorebooksthanjustinbieber.com/head.html) as well, I believe it was part of David's April fools prank and book marketing.

Oh, will it harm the hardware? I always wanted to try but just afraid that it would hard the speaker. And I meant increasing volume of alarm clock only without affecting the others. As in, separate system something like that. I dont wanna use 3rd party alarm because I heard that they are battery consuming, is that true? Thanks :o

The ATV was not outputting 1080P so that is something to consider.
What does a 720P encode played via iTunes look like? I never tried them back to back, but I never noticed a difference between ATV & Mini playing the same file. In fact I'm now using 3 ATVs and mini is just a headless server I VNC into occasionally. The minimal loss in quality that comes with not being able to do 1080P is more than made up for in the simplicity of the ATV IMHO.

Hmm, well should I shell an extra 300 for the higher spec 27incher? Or do you guys think it's definitely not necessary for my use.

I had picked up and old Power Mac 6100 a few years ago from a school and have been using it ever since. For about the past year I have been using it to record notes I take on a voice recorder to burn to CD, in fact, aside from the occasional game that is the only use this computer gets.
This computer is running on OS 7.6.1 with 40MB of RAM and a 2GB hard drive. I could get a more detailed list of specifications if needed (I am not very familiar with configuration).
About a week ago I had noticed what appeared to be the PRAM battery's passing (about time too). All sorts of odd behavior had started such as the time change to 1956 and "out of memory" errors in SoundEdit and SoundApp despite the fact that only 25% of the RAM was in use. I bought a new PRAM battery and replaced it. The clock now lasts through a restart, so the battery is working. The odd behavior such as the "out of memory" errors did not end. Sound does not play at all also (except the "play-through" playback from the voice recorder).
I reset the PRAM to no avail. I have tried virtual memory, changing the memory allocation, disabling extensions, etc., but am open to suggestion. I am considering switching the RAM with some spares I have to check if the RAM is failing, but given the coincidental timing with the PRAM battery failure I doubt that is the problem. I also am considering a clean reinstall if that fails.
What would you all suggest? I would really prefer to keep using this computer. Should I just ditch this computer and figure out sound editing on my other computer?

Just posted in another thread with a similar sounding problem, there maybe something useful in there.

The airport cards in those machines do tend to deteriorate, causing intermittent problems. Though, the cards aren't integrated into the logic, so they're not too difficult to re-seat or replace.

Thanks for the reply robbieduncan. So I guess it's not allowed...
Well section 2.15 prevents you installing to any shared location. So that prevent you installing the .prefs bundle.

One of the functions I want is the ability for the software to tell me what CDs that I own and are also not in iTunes. I don't want the software, nor would I have a use, for it to catalog what files/albums that I purchased in the digital format.
Also, did I miss something? I swore the first link explicitly said Mac OS X.
Ok, sorry I was a little confuzzled. cdpedia seem then like the right fit. One of the features I saw was it automatically scanning iTunes and placing a blue mark by any CD that was in your iTunes library.

I reckon I'll be waiting in line at West Town mall Friday like a shmuck for the iPad 2. Anyone have any experience with Apple product launches in Knoxville prior to this? What sort of line should I expect?
I plan on checking in around noon to see what is going on. I'll either get in line then or come back around 3pm depending on the crowd. I'm not looking forward to waiting in line, but I can't resist the urge to have one of these things in my grubby little hands Friday night.
If anyone else is planning to go, it would be great to update this thread with the status of the event. I will once I get there.

Just curious: what was the final verdict on the 5870 and the '06/'07 models?
YES
However, it's probably better to get a 5770 as you will be bottlenecked by other parts of your machine and won't be able to take full advantage of the 5870's POWAH

Refurb Dual 2ghz G5 PM's w/8gb - PCI-X board on the apple refurb store. They are't going to last long. Quite frankly I'm surprised they are back at all. I ordered one of these babies a month ago and love it. The day I got mine they disappeared off the site and are just back now.
