Sounds useful--but OS X will do encrypted SparseImages for free, without much loss of convenience. And they change size dynamically. And they make a Mac volume even on a Windows-format iPod.

I remember the good old days of advantix, I thought it was great too for casual shots. I'd take the time and pick only the good pics you want to save then just scan a couple everytime you sit at the computer. Thats what i did for all my old prints, it may take awhile but doesn't cost anything, and you control the results.

That's what I decided to do. Pictures aren't super-great quality (I took terrible pictures in high school, it turns out,) so I doubt having them re-processed to a CD would make any difference. Scanning them in at 600dpi may be overkill, but there is a slight difference in quality I notice over 300dpi, and most images still end up being less than 2MB, about half the size of photos from my Canon PowerShot.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Nermal, you're a hero ! Thanks ! Just when I thought I had given up finding something out there that was capable of .RA-to.MP3 conversions, you came along ! Hijack works a treat. Brilliant ! By the way, I could NEVER be 'that desperate' in buying Virtual PC ! Thanks again :-)

The PowerBooks span between their own inbuilt screen and a second (external) screen.
I can't imagine it'd be all that possible/easy to span between two external screens with a PowerBook though. :)
Nice. So all I need is one external monitor.
Sorry if this is an obivous question, but why is it hard to span between two externals with a Powerbook?

hello everyone ,
what is the different between set/get function and @property/@synthesize ?
is it just syntax code or not ? and what does mean ?
The Objective-C 2.0 language manual on Apple's web site will answer all these questions. And playing around with styles like you did is _very_ impolite.

I shot a bunch of footage at a KISS concert on my Iphone 4. I converted all the footage to Apple ProRes before importing into FCS for editing. I am in the middle of cutting it all together, and I'm wondering what would be the proper compression to output at the same quality as the original files, HD720p30?

It seems odd that there isn't a Tips, Help and Troubleshooting sub-forum for the iPod Touch when there is for the iPad and iPhone, and I think that the Touch forum is more popular than the iPad forum.....

I just loaded OSX client onto my 2010 mini server the other day and have been having issues with low ram, all i am doing is running XBMC and only have 200mb free. I was looking around in "About this mac" to make sure that I really had 4gb or ram when i noticed that is says "64-bit Kernel and Extensions: NO".
I double checked in the terminal and it said i386. As far as I knew there is not two separate OSX discs for 64bit and 32bit. Why would it load 32 bit?
Thanks!

What is your opinion of the Behringer audio interface?
I'm trying hard to think of something good to say about Behringer. About the only thing that comes to mind is "low price".

I would imagine Parallels would be up to the things you list. Much easier to use, and saves you having to restart your Mac.
I am a wee bit concerned about the USB Smartbadge reader as I tried to get my company mail using my Sony Vaio running Windows 7 and there are issues with the smart badge reader and my company says there software is not compatible with windows 7 but will work fine with Vista so I will plan to buy Window Vista and install that in Parellels...................maybe I can try the free trial of Parallels and try that first to see if I can get my Chevron mail
