hi
Does anyone in the forum have experience with the 2 monitors I listed.
Both are under 350.00, much less than apple cinema display.
Samsung LED from newegg
viewsonic LCD from amazon
Will be using with 13" i7 macbook pro.
Will be using mostly photoshop, nothing crazy.
please if you have one of these monitors let me know.
thanks in advance !!!!!

the new spymac is great, especially the spydisk. 100 MB of online disk space that mounts on the OS X desktop.
Where else would it mount?
So anyone know if I can buy an iWalk in the new auction area or maybe my email off a spam list?

^^^ classic Mac games FTW!
This is also an example of a good 'in-between' Mac if you ever pick up an older machine that needs a bootable floppy to get it up and running.

You can also try moving the software updates to the trash and just redownloading it.

Unfortunately as far as classic Macs go, these are just about the worst.
Read why here: http://lowendmac.com/tech/x200.shtml
I have a few they're not terribly enjoyable compared to other Macs of similar vintage.

I've got an iAd in my iPad app (just dragged and dropped in xib, and then linked to IBOutlet to code) that once the user opens and closes it, an item also disappears from view (segmentbuttons that are set up via code).
If I could just intercept the code when it closes the iAd I could reinstantiate the buttons, so my question is what function is called when the user closes the iAd?
You may want to read over https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/iAd_Guide/iAd_Guide.pdf

Explain to me how this makes sense. How is a C2D MacBook going to beat out an i5 MBP?

AT&T is selling the 4 gig's for $299, the 8 gigs are going for $349 on apple refurb.
I know some people might not like this, but I'm looking to pick up a used one somewhere in the 150-200 range for a 4 gig, 200-250 for an 8 gig.
I'm willing to sacrifice condition for price. The screen must be perfect, but I don't mid scratches on the back.
This might be a great opportunity for you to trade up or just trade in for a brand new iPhone. Hopefully some people are interested.

I've found it now.
It's under Energy Saver in System Preferences.
You can use Caffeine (http://lightheadsw.com/caffeine/) to temporarily override your Energy Saver settings, with a single mouse click. And as has already been stated, you don't need anti-virus software to protect your Mac from malware. Read the Virus/Malware link that simsaladimbamba posted.

Several apps should be able to do that. That is for DVDs but should be the same for USB stick.

What projects are you trying to use with CUDA?
I know Collatz fails. I talked with the project admin about it. He doesn't even own a Mac, so I've no clue why there even IS a Mac CUDA app there.
SETI doesn't work, nor does Einstein. Both need more than 450MB of VRAM, which many CUDA-enabled Mac cards simply don't have.
PrimeGrid's PPS and GCW sieve apps work fine on my GT 330M in the MacBook Pro. Running 10.6.6 and the latest BOINC version (6.10.58 - not the beta - this is important!)
As for where the problem lies...I dunno. I'd need a bit more information (ie what project/subprojects you're trying to run) and what kind of card you have.
Also...have you installed the full CUDA toolkit? To run a CUDA app you're gonna need libcudart.dylib and libcudart.dylib_200102 (or something - its signature) in the same folder.

Just hazarding a guess here... Is it under the GUID partition table?
Pretty sure it is but no options available to change it.

I am looking to sell my iPod Nano. It is the white 4GB version. I have had it since they started selling them, which I think is about 3 months or so. It comes with all the normal stuff. I will also be including an iPod Nano Dock.
The condition is ok, but it does suffer from scratches, as im sure you know about. I have had it since day one, and was unaware it would scratch so easily.
I think $200 would be a fair price. Unless your looking to trade a 5g iPod, I am looking to sell only. If you have any questions feel free. I'll try n post pictures later.
Please post pictures asap as I am interested. Thanks.

I have been battling in my mind as to which Mac to get. Portability would be nice (aka powerbook), but it comes at a hefty cost. My major in college is Media Arts and Design and I will be doing a lot of digital video stuff. They recommend you to have a mac and Final Cut Pro. Would an iMac G5 be good for this? How are the innards different than the powerbook or powermac?
Please only post if you know what you are saying...ie no "well I don't see why the iMac wouldn't be fine for you" blah blah.. Thanks in advance :)

That store gets busy, and with the layout of the store, I can only assume that the line would form outside the store. Wonder how the security will be acting about that, if that happens...
i might be there... might go to Best Buy.

My site, for reference, perhaps not safe for prudes;
http://www.hisdarknostalgia.com
Issue: I have my files hosted on another site, http://www.violetsandvenom.com/images/header.htm for the header.
I can not, for the life of me, get <base href="/" to point my images to the server. I have temporarily put up an iframe, but would like to get rid of that if anyone can help solve this.
Thanks.
Just hoping to find an alternative to base href all together really - but have no idea which way to look...

I've got a tech problem. This is rare, because I'm a pretty techy guy and most times I can sort things out.
My ipad is struggling with some video imports. The only reason I bought an iPad 2 was to use imovie and well . . .
I'm a journalist. I'm embedding with the armed forces. I want to be able to shoot video on my Sony CX110, pull the SD card out, transfer that video onto the ipad. Then edit it, lay down some basic voice over, and upload the footage directly to youtube/vimeo.
I didn't think this was a super hard idea. But my lowest camera output is an MPG file, that while the ipad 2 can see and import this file from the SD card reader, I cannot view or edit it in any way.
Is there an app that will let me work around this? I understand that I can run an MPG or even a nice high rez MTS file through a desktop converter that will let me play (and maybe edit?) on the ipad. But there isn't space in the back of an armoured vehicle for my desktop, or even a laptop really. Part of why the ipad was my first choice.
Did I make the wrong purchase? Or is there some way to jump the MPEG gap and get those files into imovie? Thanks for any and all help.
Cheers
