I am glad to see Apple put their product anywhere it can to increase sales and get devices into peoples hands. Not every place has an Apple store, or maybe even a Target or Best Buy close by. Well done Apple!

Of course, that also assumes that the average person walking into a major retailer would or could know that little bit of info.The average consumer certainly could know about oem versions of windows if they did any research at all, it's pretty much common knowledge in the PC world.
Personally, I have no plans whatsoever to buy Vista.That's fine, I'm not trying to convince anyone to switch to windows. No need to get defensive.
I just wanted people on here with little to no windows background to understand that the $400 retail price isn't what you will pay for the software when you buy it included with a system or on it's own oem.

On a full sized computer? That's horrible. Adobe has to get their act together and make flash more efficient before they can be allowed on the iphone. :rolleyes:

But, did you notice the part where on a similar, C2D AOPEN Mini, running Windows 7, IE8 runs the same Flash movie at 0%-1%, Chrome and Firefox at 4%, but Safari goes to almost 30%.
I'd say it's Apple that has the problem, and not Adobe.
Flash works just fine, and it's useful and necessary to the vast majority of users. Adobe seems to be doing a very good job with 10, and from what I've seen, it runs just fine on mobiles presumably less powerful than the iPhone.
The way I see it, if there is a pi$$ing match between Apple and Adobe, and Adobe takes its ball (Creative Suite) and walks away from Apple, the Mac OS will die, for all practical purposes.
Anyway, the iPhone must have Flash, if it is to remain competitive, and Apple really needs to dedicate some resources, and make sure Flash (and Java) run better on OS X.

No kidding -- kinda reads like the iPad comments from last year, except instead of six pages there are probably hundreds for iPad. Weird looking at those forum posts and not recognizing any of the posters and seeing some labeled as "guest".

I really hope that the Classic stays until we have a competing 128-256 GB iPod with physical buttons for at least play, fast forward and rewind. Thunderbolt would be a very nice bonus.

Button to open laptop display? Gone.

It was only after the WMD charade completely fell apart (I suspect Bush figured they'd find something to tout as proof, didn't happen) that the reasoning was shifted to "spreading democracy" and the atrocities of Saddam were pushed hard. Simply put, the war was built and sold on a complete lie, and it was only after that fell apart it became about human rights and (US interests approved) "democracy".
If a country's regime committing human rights abuses was really the USA's reasoning behind intervention we would have invaded Saudi Arabia, Israel, etc. Simply put, the USA cares if and only if there is some vital interest to be obtained. I haven't quite figured out the strategic importance of Libya to be honest. Wait a second. They use a 3rd party wireless card, and he said in the end that "the flaw is not in the Apple operating system as we used 3rd party hardware". I'd say that's quite different from the impression I got from reading the macrumors headline here. A default MacBook using the built in Airport isn't vulnerable as far as I can tell.
He also said that the exploit isn't as trivial as a generic buffer overflow. Now, to exploit a generic buffer overflow, you need to have a certain level of l337ness to begin with, so that means you don't have to worry about your neighbour braking into your wireless network, just yet. Unless someone releases premade tools to do the exploitation, I'd say that normal people and small businesses don't have to worry at the moment.

BTW - The people saying he did a second rate job or is a crappy developer, obviously are not familiar with iPhone development or the code that he created. The Three20 project was very good. I understand his frustration and am not surprised by his decision.
