Freshman Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) tested his comedy act during a speech at the Congressional Correspondents' Dinner on Wednesday night, taking aim at Newt Gingrich with an edgy joke comparing the former Speaker of the House's recent flap over flip-flopping on his Libya stance to his number of wives.
"I was happy to see that Newt Gingrich has staked out a position on the war, a position, or two, or maybe three. I don't know. He may have more war positions than he's had wives," Paul said, seemingly triggering more shocked murmurs than laughs. HuffPo (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/31/rand-paul-newt-gingrich-wives_n_843085.html)
Speaking of bad jokes, who wrote Ron Paul's newsletters in the 80s?

Hmmm...... If you look closely at the banner photo you'll see the "64-bit" logo is awfully close to the photo of the iMac. The current Intel iMacs are not 64-bit since the Core Duo (1) processers are 32-bit. Could this mean that the iMacs are going to get the new Core Duo 2 processers, which just happen to be 64-bit.
Same goes for the MacBook Pros

hey, good job actually keeping the consumer and the pro lines separate this time, no more of that "low end MBP has the same clockspeed as a high end MB"

I bet they'll ship these before they ship us our 17" C2D MBPs that they waited until the last minute to tell us could not ship due to "high demand" even though they haven't shipped any.
What a horrible company.
Don't feel bad. I received my MBP15 on 10-31 and it had a bad left speaker. I had to send it back for repair/replacement (whichever they do is fine with me). I got mine and had to let it go. :(

Ok, so its going to be called imovie. So we're gonna have 2 imovies, how confusing., will it be a seperate software or will it built into itunes, personally i think that itunes should be music only, then programs and films and vodcasts in a separate application called imovie, Itunes is too clogged up.

The same guy I was talking too (at NextByte) told me that they had no Macbook deliveries for over a week, which they had never seen.
He also told me he'd heard that there will be a 15 inch MacBook Pro!!!
Well, don't believe him. The fact that there already is a 15" MBP should be evidence that Apple will never release a 15" MBP.

Apple should take finger out of their back parts asap!
Very soon indeed it might turn out to be too late...

I owned an original iPod and love it for business trips. I was able to load on a stack of songs and still have room for some backup. As capacity grew I expanded the use of music + backup and it was great for overseas business trips.
Today I'll stick with the iPhone and keep thinking about the iPad. But I hope Apple continues to do well with the Classic.
In terms of making decisions on its future, the question gets down to profitability. If it's still selling at a level that generates profits for Apple then there is no reason to discontinue it. A sample model doesn't take up much room at the Apple Store and that reason alone supports continuing a profitable item.

My $129 dollar investment in Leopard is going to look like even more of a steal ... :D
Especially for those who think that they're going to get Aero for peanuts.
The super duper Vista Ultimate which has Media Center tools along with the Aero 3D GUI and extra security technology will cost a whopping $449.
I'm well aware that the majority of people are going to get Vista when they buy new machines next year or so, but which of these versions are they going to get?

I've been going thru these forums for about a year now. I find good posts and opinions but I hate these snide comments from people. Not everyone is as tech savvy as many who post here. I'm sick of scrolling past these guys that have nothing better to do than mock others.
Go pound sand, it has nothing to do with being tech savvy.

I doubt it since this is the World Wide DEVELOPERS Conference...I wouldnt classify an imac as a developmental machine.
Although they did give all the developers who 'rented' the 'Intel Development Kit' from WWDC '05 a Intel iMac when they were released in January. ;)
Also, kids, this is what we should be discussing:

Why isn't the new DVD design for leopard not mentioned in the news article?
Well I like it :)
That's pretty hot.
I'm puzzled by the brushed metal iPod. I'm puzzled, specifically, that they would put images of products to be announced at the Keynote on the banner, because it seems like it'd rob the Stevenote of a bit of power.
Definitely enthusiastic, though.

I've been hearing that storey for over 2 months now
Yeah, and it's getting harder and harder to take the buyer's guide seriously...
It's been saying "don't buy" about mac pro's and macbook pro's since at least november last year...

There have been times when I wanted Flash to work on my iPod, but I'm glad Apple is keeping it off there. They just need to keep pushing HTML5 and eventually Flash will die and the internet will miraculously become faster.

This is a great Artlicle that really gets at the heart of Wal Mart's power, and although it's not about movies as such, it gives a hint as to how wal mart will aproach this....

Basically, what we are talking about is an individual's worldview and how that worldview impacts their motivations in life.I don't think so. He seems unequivocally to be asserting that without one's unquestioning acceptance of and devotion to a mythologised usurper whose polytheistic antecedents are documented within the written record, all one's actions are essentially worthless, at least according to his criteria. That anyone can place such emphasis on the acceptance of such a patently fraudulent cosmology as a precondition to salvation is extraordinary.

Besides Apple usually pimps up the iPhone before the iPad and the next iPhone won't have 3D...
"Usually?" There's only been one revision of the iPad since its initial release, so it's a little early to try to point to any consistent pattern.

No hardware in WWDC '11?
Apple always said they are about Software and Hardware, well then it wouldn't make sense for them to omit hardware from the conference.
So i'm predicting...
A completely revamped iOS, named iOS 5
Mac OS X Lion, the best OS yet.
A completely revamped MobileMe, a lot of free features but more space requires cheaper annual payments.
Additional cloud-like services nobody thought of.
Why does this sound like everything that might be shown? Or am i missing something?
i was hoping they would show off the iPhone 5 alongside iOS 5, and new iMacs for Mac OS X Lion, but i guess that won't be happening..
Am I missing something here why no iphone 5???
I agree mobile me will be completely revamped and will cost about US$50-75 per year
Music on the cloud
I still think there will be mention of a iphone 5 or proof one is coming (eg new os is HD or something....) Maybe instead/ as well as of a iphone 5 they should make a/call it the iphone HD (bigger screen, HD video etc)

You can do that now. Put in a CD and deselect the check mark to the left for any song you don't want ripped. I do it all the time.
Thanks, I'll try that. I've always had to hit the "burn" button and then select or deselect the songs AFTER the disk was ripped. Of course, I often don't know which song has the scratch until I've tried to rip the whole disk, but at least I'll be able to save the rest of the songs.
