Not orchestral specifically. Just samples that are of outstanding quality. :)

I haven't seen any mini apple stores at the Best Buy in West Ashley or North Charleston. Have they added it since I last went in one?
Actually we do have a Saks 5th Avenue on King St.

PSPware seems to be the only DECENT program for Mac to help with PSP files....and it's still not that great at it.

Yeah, it sounds confusing at first because you get high res screens so that you can fit more in your workspace. If my Apple introduced a MacBook with a higher resolution screen, but everything on my screen still had the same physical size, it sort of defeats the purpose. However, I think the point is that you can choose the size of the UI elements on your screen without making things look messed up. Right now, if you have an LCD, it has a native resolution. If you want everything to scale to a larger physical size, you'd have to turn down the resolution on the screen, which just messes the look of things.
So if you had a 1920 x 1200 MacBook screen, you can still make the UI elements the same size as they are now (ie: large and easy to see) on the 1280x800 screen. It would just appear sharper on higher res screens. But if you need the resolution and desktop space, you can have it too.
Well, this is what my understanding of this feature is. :o Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, sorry. Those too.:)
What do you mean? Are you talking about Leopard? Leopard will work with Core 2 Duo, Core Duo, PPC, probably everything back to about a 1997 model imac.
However Leopard will only provide 64 bit support to 64 bit capable chips, that would be G5 PPC and Core 2 Duo only.

All these crazy profits quarter after quarter, and they can't lower the prices...
Unreal greed.
Not greed at all. Likely some of the value of your parent's or grandparent's retirement funds (or maybe your friend's) might well partially depend on Apple stock. If Apple didn't sustain a strong bottom line when they could, those retirement funds could sue Apple for scr*wing your old relatives out of some of their retirement investment as the value of the stock tanks.

Apple should think realistically now about allowing legitimate Fairplay licensing.
Here in the UK, websites are being forced to use DRM by content providers. The only option currently available, thanks to Apple's pigheadedness, is Windows DRM. So Mac users are being increasingly locked out of web services such as live broadcasts, radio stations etc. simply because we don't use Windows. Give the content providers another solution with Fairplay licensing and maybe Mac users won't get so marginalised.
They may not have noticed in Cupertino, but Windows DRM is locking people into Windows just as effectively as Fairplay is locking people into iPods. Apple are allowing Microsoft to get a foothold in a market that Apple should own by now.

Stopped reading there.
I agree completely.
Once you hear "analyst" in a report or rumour you know it has more to do with them trying to buy or sell some shares than anything based on fact. I don't think I have seen one comment from Piper Jaffrey or other analysts being factually accurate unless they are reporting from an official press release, and even so you have to be careful. :)

Isn't the graph misleading? Is it 400 thousand units or 400 million units?
ya, it's supposed to be thousands of units and dollars.

Plus it sounds like Cingular is well ahead of T-Mobile in terms of rolling out 3G/4G level broadband.
But Cingular is in the dark ages when it comes to everything else. Signal is horrible, customer service is horrible, everything about them is horrible. They are the worst company we've ever had to deal with. The "fewest dropped calls" is a crock of ***** and frankly, I'd rather have 2 tin cans and a string than have the Cingular service (if you can call it that) that I have right now. The call quality with the cans may not be as good as landline, but at least I could make a call.
I sure do hope Apple goes with TMo, because we're going with them once our Suckgular contract is up in December, and I'd love to eventually get an iPhone.
And the TMo and Cingular networks are not one in the same. Cingular attempts to operate on 800MHz (and fails miserably at it) and TMo is 1900MHz (or maybe its the other way around). And again, if they were the same network, then why would my sister's TMo phone get full signal strength in spots where mine and my parents Cingular phones get nothing? The only thing the 2 share in common, is that being the 2 main GSM providers in the US, they have roaming agreements with each other. Now if I could only force my phone to roam onto TMo's network, then it might actually work.

Aha! Thanks, at seemed like too ridiculous a problem to actually exist, but googling had failed me. I still dont get why apps can override the master volume control at all, but as long as there is some way to shut them up.

I agree, it's very annoying, and seems to be one of the Finder's long-standing bugs. I use column view exclusively and still get annoyed when new windows open in another view, such as when viewing an app's package contents.
You might want to try opening a new Finder window and setting it how you like, then closing it and opening another. This has sometimes worked for me in the past.
One way I found to not so much get around the problem but get new windows opening how I like is by using scripts. Here's one I amended from an article originally on MacOSXHints.com way back in 2001. It opens two finder windows, one above thew other in column view, and is designed for a 1024 x 768 resolution screen. It's pretty easy to follow so you should be able to tinker with it to get it exactly how you want it (and remember to change the 'set target...' lines to reflect your user account and what you want the Finder to display).
tell application "Finder"
activate
close every window
-- Bottom Window
set this_window to make new Finder window
-- display external firwire hard disk if mounted
if disk "X Files" exists then
set target of this_window to "X Files:Archive"
else
set target of this_window to "HD:Applications"
end if
set bounds of this_window to {86, 364, 818, 762}
set current view of this_window to column view
-- Top Window
set this_window to make new Finder window
set target of this_window to "HD:Users:db"
set bounds of this_window to {86, 97, 818, 279}
set current view of this_window to column view
end tell

Saw an ABC Australia journalist in Japan reporting that because the phones are down people are using Facebook to post their status and location to let their families and friends know how they are. I assume Facebook will make some mileage out of this.
One of my friends has Facebook posts of one of the aftershocks where he and a bunch of others are standing out by the airplanes at Tokyo's airport. He said that luckily nobody at the International terminal in the airport seemed to be hurt, and that the duty free shops were pretty much toast. I assume he and the others are spending the night at the airport and not trying to head back to the city.
