Excuse me for the lack of picture, but there is nothing I could use... My last purchase is my inscription to university :) First choice is Computer Engineering, second choice Computer Science (or is it? If I translate literally it would be Software Engineering, but that doesn't seem to exist).

1) I own both.
They are rectangular and have icons on home screens.
There's only so much one can do with smart phone styling.
It's not like Apples on the verge of going out of business.
Much ado over nothing.
Like a teenage bully, Apples beyond stupid.
2) You actually believe clueless sales people?
The fact that "there's only so much you can do with smart phone styling" does not give one company the inalienable right to copy another's patents, or blur the line between their product and the one which they're trying to copy.
The size of Apple's bank account has nothing to do with this. Disney has sued much smaller companies in the past, and won. Because the courts recognize the need to protect valuable intellectual property, even when sofa lawyers don't.
Whether I believe clueless sales people or not is irrelevant. Clueless consumers often do. How else can you explain Android's rise? (zing! :o).

As always, the iPod is Apple's real cash cow.
Too bad for those of us who wish they would divert a little more of their attention to their computer line..
Yeah. Gawd knows Apple hasn't done a thing with it's Mac line-up this year.
Wow, amazing how emotional people always get whenever I make a statement that could sound slightly anti-iPod... I know you love your iPod and all (I am very fond of mine myself), but over the last few years Apple has been focusing a dispropotional amount of energy into their cute little gadget which has massively boosted their profits. For those of us that don't salivate over all things iPod, I think this is too bad.
That is all.
Do you even understand yourself?
You're first comment was more anti-Mac than anti-iPod.
Count the amount of things Apple has done to it's Mac line-up this year compared to it's iPod line-up, and then come back and tell us that Apple hasn't focused on it's computers this year WAY more than the iPod line-up.
Think before you post.
Es todo.

I've compiled a list of changes that I've noticed:
1. The view buttons in Finder have switched back to the "old" style where the options not selected are de-pressed.
2. The iCal leather gradient that everyone hated has been changed to be lighter (picture attached). Honestly, I think it looks a LOT better now. Just less "in your face."
3. The To-Do list in iCal is now referred to as "Reminders."
4. Apple has forced all applications to use the new iOS scroll bar. If that app hasn't been updated to support the new iOS scroll bars, then their is a container around them (attached image).
5. Some changes in Mail must have been made because you are required to update your database before launch.

I like your idea and I think it would work in many situations if there is indeed going to be a "transition phase" toward a new type of connection format. However, I'll stick by my prediction as it offers the maximum benefit for Apple and its third party partners while keeping the whole user interaction simpler and more elegant. The Nike situation is different in the respect that it is really the only way to make a product like that workcan't have a bunch of wires getting in the way of running. I know the iPod Hi-Fi probably isn't selling well enough for Apple to worry that a new connection format would hurt their own profit margin much, but there are a LOT of third party partners out there that have only recently given it their best because Apple has probably assured them that the dock connector will be around for quite some time, so third party R&D won't be a black hole or recurring expense in that area. It is what has helped the accessory market evolve to the point it has, which has benefitted Apple immensly-don't think Apple doesn't realize that fact! It is also what is missing from the also-ran MP3 manufacturers: not enough consistency to make it worth their investment to produce for those products.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Of course, it COULD have both....
how about
a 30 $ optional wireless receiver that acts as a female dock connector to plug into the existing iPod docks?

Looks more like the 300mm f/2.8L. The IS switches are in the wrong locations for the 200 f/2L.

It's an awesome SSD, currently reviewing it. But there is no way that very little space can replace my 500GB.
It will take some time getting used to 60GB of space. But absolute silence from the uMBP takes no time to get used to at all :D

While this could influence Apple's stock, the vast majority of America will never hear about it enough to remember it. All they know is that they want an "iPod", and even if Best Buy tries to sell them a Zune instead, they'll get the original.
However, Apple should try to combat it, because that's an even better way to make sure the Zune has no impact: make the iPod better!

What if Microsoft claims that the Mac firmware (which is software on a chip) is EFI and Apple is emulating BIOS and thus Windows is running in an emulated environment.
Don't underestimate the power of the Darkside!
edit: Unless with Vista the Mac can use the native EFI, uhm... Maybe the Darkside is not all that :)
EFI is not an emulation of bios.

I'm on a PPC but plan to go MacTel next year when Adobe releases Universal versions of Creative Suite. I have some questions about VMware & Parallels if you don't mind me adding it to the thread:
1. Do they require Windows partitions, and if so how much disk space is needed?
2. If a partition is needed, can you run the partition on an external drive so as to free up space on your internal? (I'll be using a MacBook Pro so that's why I ask).
3. Can anyone tell me anything about syncing a Palm device with Parallels or VMware? In particular I'm wondering how easily (if at all) I could sync my Treo with Windows apps as well as OS X apps. This would be huge to me.
thx.
1) Not a partition. The virtual Windows disk lives inside a file on the mac. If your Windows C: drive was 18GB stored on it the Mac OSX file will be 18GB.
OK with the current VMware produts you can use a real Windows partition if you want. Same with the Windws CD drive. You can map them to the real CD drive or to a disk image file. The default is to map the CD to the real CD and the C: disk to a disk image file (but you could map C: to a real disk if you want)
2) The file holding the virtual disk can be anyplace, even on a network drive but speed is an issue

I was disappointed that the resolution was not updated to 1920x1200...I would assume this would have added siginificant costs? or maybe they think the current resolution is good enough and that there is little noticable difference between the current vs 1920x1200 ? Anyone else feel this is a big deal? Reasons why the higher resolution is not necessary? Thanks
Why do people keep acting as though HD res on a laptop is somehow a self-evidently good idea? The correct question is, "Reasons why the higher resolution is necessary?" It seems utterly absurd to me. I don't think you guys realize the implications of extreme hi res + relatively small screen + lack of resolution independence.

Had the limited pre-ordered and picked it up today. Kinda regret not getting the legendary edition.
Seeing pics of the halo reach console are getting me jealous lol. I'm a halo nut, I might just end up buying it. That's if it's still available and not sold out that is.
