I bought an iMac April 16. If apple releases a new model May 3rd, will they pity recent buyers and allow exchange/return for the new iMac????

It annoys me too but it works out pretty well for Apple and I'd much rather pay extra for the i7 than not have the option at all. Look at the latest MBPs compared to the previous ones, Apple bumped the GPUs up significantly but charged $200 more and yet everyone is happy.

I strongly suggest against a refurbished model of older revisions. It is similar to purchasing a Core 2 model. The base 21.5" Sandy Bridge once it hits refurb would be tempting at ~$999.

There's a 3.33GHz core 2 duo on there for $1040, and a 3.06GHz Core i3 for $930; same GPU different HDD size. The i3 would be the better choice if one weren't able to get the extra $200 or so for a new model.
This is the first worthwhile iMac solely based on the stillborn potential of Thunderbolt and the quad on the base models. It only took 5 years.

I tend to ignore my family/co-workers when I talk about this stuff. The Apple bias there is quite evident and I don't expect anything other than Apple stuff there. I wouldn't draw conclusions on Mac market share from them either as it would put the Mac on top of Windows by a huge margin. ;)
I try to be honest with myself because if I looked at them, I would draw the same conclusions you and many others are here and just say Apple is leading by a huge margin, which just isn't the case. I don't have enough attachement to Apple as a vendor to go around cheerleading for them.

I think jumping on McDonald staff for this is pointless because what would the average person on the street do. Guess what stand by and do nothing and more than likely stare not sure what to do.
Reason why is that is not something we see very often if ever in our lives and it is so outside the norm that we are not sure what to do and we get stuck in a loop trying to figure out what to do. Normally by the time we finally decide to act it is all over. Look at the length of that event. It was over in matter of seconds.
In my personal life I had neighbored who would go at it sometime go at it and one night when I was getting home down the street I could see them yelling at each other and it did not look pretty. I kind of hide out of sight and watch trying to figure out what to do because A) I did not want to be dragged into it as I had to live near these people B) I was not sure what was going on. I saw what look like the guy threw a punch and I knew it took me a good 30 secs to even process the fact of did that really just happen.
Now quickly called the 911 and stated what I saw but I did not want to make a statement to the police as they lived above me and last thing I wanted was people around me being pissed off at me. I just wanted it to end. Cops showed up and I went inside the fight ended and no one was ever the wiser on who called. I never even gave my name to the police.
Point is even though I saw saw the yelling the punch still took me 30 secs to process and I still was not willing to risk my own body to get involved. I have feeling I was among the few out there who would of even really called the cops instead of just walking inside and pretending not to noticed.
As an added bonus the fights above me in the apartment did seem to stop and no more what sounded like someone being slammed around making me wish I called the cops sooner.

So it finally stopped snowing this morning, skies overcast. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I got out and headed just a little north of town to a closed ended valley - elevation 6300 feet. There are a bunch of old abandoned farm houses scattered about. Here's one of them.

Of course there is. iOS runs on two currently available Apple smartphone models: 3GS and 4. The iOS that runs on these phones is sufficiently different in feature sets from the iOS that runs on Tablets, media consumption devices, and Apple TVs:
-Larger resolution on tablets
-Communications handled separately - No phone app or visual voicemail on Tablet or iPod Touch
-No installable apps on Apple TV
I think you already understand the differences. You just would like to lump everything together so that it seems that Apple still has dominant marketshare.

You are honestly trying to act as if slight hardware and software features and differences make it a completely different platform, regardless of whether or not it has an effect on applications? Seriously? That's like saying Android devices from different manufacturers can't be lumped together because of different resolutions or skins.

They never say �What�s Target paying you?, we have to match that� but they might say �What�s Target paying you?, we have to BEAT that� They could end up paying more or less depending on how good the company is at negotiating. Also bigger companies with more products sold normally will get a better deal. A lot of companies would be screwed if Wal-Mart stopped carrying their products. This leverage allows Wal-Mart to work out great deals.
Nothing is preventing Apple from reworking their deals. However no company has to change any deal unless they both agree to terms.

It's a platform war, but not in the way that a lot of people think it is. Developers are making a lot more money on iOS because it has a lot more users and those users tend to buy things. Therefore, those users are going to get the developers' attention first.
