Books are expensive these days. How much would e-books go for?

I miss the days of holovids:D I sure didn't miss much of the story then, unless of course I decided to get the hell out of a level vs reading the 'vids.
I will say, I quite enjoy co-op multiplayer even though I much dislike the story and lack of emotion.
The data pads have me much intrigued, but I, unlike some of you, but like most of the halo population, will not torture myself with Reaches legendary. (where half of the datapads can be found)

FFS, when will the qq stop about the app approval process, like it or leave it, no one is forcing them to develop for the iphone...
I believe that was the developer's exact point. He's leaving so he doesn't have to complain about it anymore. Nobody is forcing him to, so he's decided not to. Do you develop iPhone apps or have first hand knowledge about how arduous the process is? If not, then feel free to take your ignorant opinion elsewhere. Personally, I don't develop iPhone software, so I will say that I do not know how arduous of a process it is, but I can imagine that after putting all of that work into something and having them take weeks to decide to tell you that you can't make it, based on some asinine reasoning, it seems ridiculous.
This sort of totalitarian control is why there will always be a community of jailbreakers out there who want to use the hardware to its full capabilities.

Each Sunday I'm going to try to take a wide angle shot of some of the more interesting rooms in my church. The main building was an old mansion with some pretty interesting architecture. Some of the rooms have murals along the tops of the walls. This one is the basement which was a summer parlor and decorated as an English tavern. Those are beer drinking carvings on either side. The floor is Venetian tile.

Also notice, the big Apple logo on the banners has an Aluminium finish. Hence the stroke. This is the first time it has a texture like this, does it?
*Edit: Hell I was wrong. They used this kind of logo last year.*

I don't know if I should give this a postive or negative. Either way, I hate Microsoft.
It is good news, at 400 buckeroos people will go "Wa!!" and look at the price tag of a Mac Mini, figuring Macs are not so expensive after all.

Maybe they'll announced that they've finally got AirDisk working with the Airport Extreme n, and will apologise for their complete incompetence and track record with this product so far.
If we're REALLY lucky we might even be able to use AirDisk with Time Machine.
Or maybe it will be the smell of ******** when Steve gives some other product the false hype that the Airport Extreme got...
Or maybe a full sized Wireless Keyboard.

We just purchased CS5 last week, at the massively over-inflated UK price.
Now they want us to pay them some more for a service pack.
Thanks a lot Adobe.
Edit:
OK I take it back... well partially... the UK prices are still a disgrace.
From Adobe's site:
"You might be eligible for a complimentary upgrade if you recently bought your software product (full or upgrade)."
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/153/tn_15304.html
If you just bought last week, the upgrade is free. Just contact Adobe and explain your situation. I had to do this when I bought version 4 of PS, then not even a month later, version 5 was released.
++++
Never mind, just re-read your post. :)

Pardon me for not reading all six pages, but can anyone describe (generally) the 47 different versions of Windows upcoming?
Will Basic only play minesweeper? What does it *not* do that Ultimate-Double-Secret-Robot-Super-Monkey-Force-Go! edition does?

On February 26, Microsoft announced that Windows Vista will ship in six editions.[40] All versions will be available in both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86-64) architectures, except Windows Vista Starter which will only be available for 32-bit architectures. A partial table of the features planned for each edition is also available at Paul Thurrott's SuperSite for Windows[41].

I have a question.... what time does Apple release things, like Cupertino time??? I believe I heard it was nine, and if it is, then we still got another two hours of waiting
Exactly what I was saying. Apple is based in Cupertino, California. It's not even 8 am here yet. Usually stuff happens between 9am-12pm

The thing that's frustrated me with Apple is the long wait for even minor product updates. The Merom update across the line should be a no brainer especially since the chip is more efficient and is easy to implement. Almost every other manufacturer announced Merom laptops already. Knowing Apple though, they'll just drag it out without mercy and only do the Merom updates in January for Macworld. In the meantime, we'll all be wondering if perhaps next week would be the right time to buy a new notebook because of some hot new rumor. Very frustrating. Now that Apple has switched to Intel, why not do chip updates without the fanfare that accompanied the minor PowerPC updates?

Every manufacturer and their mother has announced Core 2 Duo portables, and most of them consumer models too. Sheesh, I mean there are Core 2 Duo tablets, if they can do that, Apple can do bloody MacBooks.
Yep, ANNOUNCED. But most of them still aren't shipping for a few days. Apple can still wait a bit to announce merom MBP and STILL beat most of the pc's to market.

Who wants to be touching a vertically standing screen all the time, that's tiring!
But of the screen is laid down so you can play it like a piano keyboard ... :)

This is complete bullcrap, people. Over the air updates will come, but over WiFi. Doing this over 3G makes no sense.
DROIDs already do all updates over 3G and VZW likes it that way.
So if VZW is involved they will opt for updates over 3G
This may mean that VZW will be keeping unlimited data on the iphone, and may have changed their minds about ending unlimited data when it comes to the iphone. I think VZW has noticed that having unlimited data makes them more attractive when competing against ATT+T-mobile merger super company.
Is that why AT&T sold a lot more iPhones that vz last quarter?
Also vz just wants you to go over your cap. More money for them

The salesman probably won't let you get out of the store without Applecare, a case, and a screen protector for fear of being fired. And while you are there, how is your cellphone treating you? They also have generic batteries 4 packs/$10.
Sorry, its a terrible place to shop and knowing how constrained their inventory with the "hot" phones, they probably won't have any in stock.

I'd confirm it, I've been suffering almost half the battery life since updating. I worried it was the battery but my device is only 6 months old, I hope 4.3.1 does address the issue and that it's not really my battery.

Couldn't all Facebook apps also be approved by default, and only be given access to a user's personal information by explicit consent of that user?
Like the world has done such a bang up job of being trustworthy, lol. Apple has to do what they believe they have to do to survive and thrive. They haven't done it by the conventional/popular ways of thinking. I never said that Apple is perfect or that their approval process is just right. But it is what it is. People aren't all trustworthy, that's probably a reason why they clamp down (whether right or wrong in certain instances) on app approval.

A blog notes (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2006/08/hijacking_a_macbook_in_60_seco_1.html) that two hackers are demonstrating a security flaw in the Macbook's device driver that would allow them to "seize total control over the machine".
...this attack can be carried out whether or not a vulnerable targeted laptop connects with a local wireless network. It is, they said, enough for a vulnerable machine to have its wireless card active for such an attack to be successful.
Similar vulnerabilities have also been found in corresponding Windows wireless drivers but the two are demoing the vulnerability on the Mac due to Apple's recent advertising (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/05/20060501211004.shtml) on Mac OS X's security.
The vulnerability has not been described to be "in the wild", and the two have been in touch with Apple, Microsoft and other companies responsible for the drivers.

I think the MacRumors posters have solved this problem with their insightful comments.
Now to the most important thing:
Will the iphone and ipad get less expensive when produced in Brazil? LOL
great question.,..
the answer: for brazilian people? yes, between 10% and 20%
for other countries? No.
