sorry for my typo I indeed mean to write 24" not 27" for the 2006 model. she does a lot of electronic music mixing using the Logic software. she has about 6 different keyboards all cabled into (some way or another) the computer along with the mixer. All quite too complicated for me:) Thanks for the reply friend!

I've tried to play Kinect once. After screwing around for awhile we finally realized it would just not recognize us with any real accuracy and we had to stop and just use normal controllers. My guess is the minimum distance was the problem, we were within it.
Honestly? Wii. You never notice to sensor bar cable, it never moves. And I don't really understand your complaint about controllers. They all have controllers (except when using Kinect, assuming you can get it to work). It's cheap and has a lot of games your kids will like, plus they can still play your gamecube games.

I imagine going to the restroom was difficult in that thing. Did you trip the moisture sensors?

i want to get a external HD to work with my 27" imac that i purchased last summer.
should i get one with Thunderbolt technology?
Also, would i hook this external up through my router or directly to the imac
neither of which have the thunderbolt connection port....
so, i'm wondering if there's any advantage getting one with TB
thanks for your thoughts
First of all, as far as I know no thunderbolt accessories are actually for sale yet. Maybe in a month or two.
I don't know of any router that has thunderbolt yet either.
Only advantage of getting a thunderbolt drive would be future compatiblity. (As long as it has multiple outputs in addition to thunderbolt, like USB/FireWire.). Thunderbolt items initially might cost too much to be worth it, at least until the price goes down.
If you want the fastest for your current mac, FireWire 800 is the way to go for your current system. USB only devices are slower, but usually cost less.

"setting for certain epson paper" could be manually added.
It's called printer calibration or downloading the paper / printer profile.
Printer profile is usually available only for high end printers, not cheap home printers.

I want to buy a new iMac and get the extra $75 off from macmall.com, but I'm afraid that they are lowing the price because they want to clear out these iMac's possibly to make room for new one's?
Does anyone see speed bumps or any kind of upgrade coming soon to the iMac line(ie: is this a good time to buy a new iMac)?

It sounds like NSButton (or NSButtonCell) is shifting the NSRunLoop into a different mode while it tracks the mouse.
I'm assuming you're using either scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:target:selector:userInfo:repeats: or scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:invocation:repeats: to create your timer. These methods will only add the timer to the default run-loop mode.
Instead try using timerWithTimeInterval:target:selector:userInfo:repeats: or timerWithTimeInterval:invocation:repeats:, and then manually adding the timer to the run loop for the common mode.

You may want to post some more details. I think you are trying to say I frame also, I dont' think there is an "A" frame.
I meant a frame, not an A Frame.
Regardless does anyone have any ideas?

My mbp runs fine on mains power but in battery the CPU jumps to nearly 100% and becomes extremely slow
I have tried it in safe boot and it strangely runs fine on battery
Any ideas

Same page if you scroll down says:
"Wonder twin power
The dual 1.25GHz PowerPC G4 processors with a combined performance of 18 billion floating point operations per second, or 18 gigaflops put this fearsomely fast Power Mac G4 squarely in the lead as the ultimate high-end graphics workstation. The twin-engined 1.25GHz G4 runs..."
So which is it? 1.5 or 1.25. Seems like one has to be wrong.

run windows 7 under the parallels Desktop 5.0.9344 and snow leopard 10.6.3. This problem makes the magic mouse practically unusable
I am at a loss on this, I just have never run Windows in any type of virtual ware, so I thought I would BUMP this thread, knowing someone well versed in parallels may have a comment or solution. Hope so. Good Luck

I think I saw you on ABC news. Did you take these pictures on a canon with a 18-55mm lens? I didn't really look at the person (I'm a camera geek :p ) but I just wanted to know!

How did you delete the Boot Camp partition?
What Mac OS X version do you use?
And have you selected the Mac OS X partition in Disk Utility or the HDD?
Can you post screenshots (http://guides.macrumors.com/Taking_Screenshots_in_Mac_OS_X) of the Get Info and Disk Utility window?
How to attach an image to your MR post. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=11836587#post11836587)

I am the student. The bloke i am doing this for wants to be able to make his own cards on his own Mac. The guy just wants a simple program and after watching a demonstration on youtube i dont think it is for him! i have found only one other program which is much the same. I have recently just found a decent windows program so i may suggest this to him (no offence!)
I think you'd be doing him a favour by letting him know he can get more professional (and likely cheaper) results by going online, where the print and card quality should far surpass a home printed effort.

Internet Explorer 6 is dying. Some companies, including the one I work for, have already dropped support. Things like this are part of the many reasons it needs to die for the web to move forward.
For times you absolutely need ie6 support, use whatever hover (http://www.xs4all.nl/~peterned/csshover.html) to get the hover pseudo class to work right in ie6.

It's separated into two partitions, one appears to be 209MB, rather than GB, which is pretty small. That's likely for the partition table, so there's nothing to worry about with the capacity, it's 160GB as advertized.
^
did you partition, clone, or do a fresh install with the SSD? most likely a table like alust said, in which case you are fine

whats a good SSD drive brand
I've had great luck with my Other World Computing drive. Especially with the most recent firmware update that fixed the issues with freezing upon wake. The company makes their drives themselves, and have terrific support. Here (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/internal_storage/Mercury_Extreme_SSD_Sandforce)is a link to their website. I too hated the idea of installing the drive. I had it done by a local Apple Reseller who is also a certified repair center. That might be your best bet. I was charged $35 for the install.
