Bertrand Serlet (Apple)
Apple today announced (http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2011/03/23serlet.html) that Bertrand Serlet, senior vice president of Mac Software Engineering, will be departing the company in order to "focus less on products and more on science", although his specific destination remains unknown. Serlet joined Steve Jobs at NeXT in 1989, and transitioned to Apple in 1997 when NeXT was acquired and Jobs brought back to lead Apple.

Serlet will be replaced by Craig Federighi, currently Apple's vice president of Mac Software Engineering and who has led Mac OS X engineering for the past two years. Federighi is another former NeXT and Apple employee who spent ten years at Ariba before returning to Apple in 2009. Serlet notes that the transition should be seamless given Federighi's role in leading the current Mac OS X team.Serlet has occasionally appeared at Apple keynote and media events over the years to introduce Mac OS X-related features, and thus well known to longtime Apple followers. Federighi made his first public presentation since his return to Apple at last October's "Back to the Mac" event (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/10/20/live-coverage-of-apples-back-to-the-mac-media-event/), taking the stage to show off some of the features of Apple's forthcoming Mac OS X Lion.

Usually this is a problem with Spotlight searching non-indexed drives, i.e. NTFS or FAT32. Try excluding your Bootcamp partition from Spotlight.

Why do any of you care?
I'm guessing because it's not a cool store, and they are shallow.
Surprisingly vain, in fact.

Samsung is losing money in a lot of areas. They found a buyer finally for their hard drive business:
Seagate buys up Samsung HDD division for $1.375 bi (http://www.afterdawn.com/news/article.cfm/2011/04/19/seagate_buys_up_samsung_hdd_division_for_1_375_billion)
Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 19 Apr 2011
"As part of the deal, Samsung gets a 9.6 percent ownership stake in Seagate.
Seagate, for its part, will become the sole provider for HDD in Samsung PCs, notebooks, NAS and DVR alongside the extension of a number of cross-license agreements.
Additionally, Seagate now has a guaranteed supply of NAND flash memory for SSD, a huge bonus for the drive maker.
..."
As for this post:
Given the terrific success of the pads & phones, this attack on Samsung by Apple is quite out of place.
Apple isn't attacking Samsung. Apple is defending itself.

This is why carrier competition is important. The T-Mobile deal needs to be struck down by regulators.

Castle on a cloud seems the likely origin
There's also the "my home (folder) is my Castle" angle, though. :)
I for one would like a constantly backed-up and synced home folder.

For feature films? I call BS! Maybe for independent "features" and even that is debatable.
Just one example but Transformers 2 was cut on FCP, and that's a 250mil movie, hardly an independent one :)

Our store is an authorized re-seller with Apple Specialist designation. Our cost for the product is far more than their sale price. TJ Max has done the same thing in the past with ipods, selling them far below our cost. I'd like to know from where they are purchasing their stock.

If the US signs the United Nations Convention Against Torture, and then admits using "enhanced interrogation" methods as part of its policy in the "War on Terror", then there is a double standard. We are either advocates of torture, or we are not.
Until advocates of "enhanced interrogation" grow a pair and start calling it torture, which is what it is, there is no point in even having a discussion on the subject.
Ok, I'll go first. E.I. = torture, and where is the line to hook electrodes up to KSM's balls?

12 petabytes? That doesn't seem like too much, actually. that's 1GB of storage for 12 million customers
that's what I'm thinking... to support a iTunes cloud and new mobileme services, I would expect exabytes... Doesn't seem that big of an order.

So why are we so quick to condemn one, yet excuse at any cost the other? Bit of a double standard there. What is your point? Isn't that exactly the view I am supporting, as are Gelfin and LB?

Reasons to get white iPhone 4:
1. Contract ends before new release.
2. Assuming there's a Sept/Oct release, there is a 5/6 month time period, which is like Dec/Jan if it's released in June.
3. You think iPhone 5 won't be much of a difference.
4. You really like white.
5. Your current phone is spoilt.
6. You had been holding off this whole time.
7. You feel that it's never ever wrong to get an Apple product regardless of time and/or edition.
8. You feel that, since everyone's got a black iPhone 4, going white would make you feel more unique and stand out from the crowd.
Reasons not to get a white iPhone 4:
1. You have a black iPhone 4.
2. Your contract probably lasts till after iPhone 5's release.
3. You desire iPhone 5's soon-to-be-announced ample/drastic improvements.
4. You prefer black to white.
5. You don't want to waste your money (yet).
6. You have the white iPad 2.
7. You are an Android/BB/WP7 user.
8. You hate Apple products.
Probably gonna get a white iPhone 4, call me an idiot for all I care. :D
I will be contented with my purchase. *that is unless, the paint still drops off*

Haha! Pawnage. Don't agree with your politics but that's some funny shite right there.
As for the poll, it's a shame it didn't include the option "No, because it's really tragic looking"
