Make that touch-sensitive bezel out of black anodised aluminium and you'd have a top notch product.

The PRAM is on the logic board. If the battery is not present, you will lose your time every time you restart, that's about it. No harm, really, just annoyance.

i think it's a little pointless using end of hardware life cycle numbers from the DS and the PSP to now go on making big asumption ... at the end of 2011 the revenue numbers might as well tilt towards the portable makers again with their new hardwares released

I didn't hear about the attacks until I was driving to class. I thought it was a prank call (that station plays prank calls in the AM) and when I got to campus I bumped into an ex friend of mine-- she was laughing!  What a jerk, she said, "OMG like, these planes totally flew into the WTC buildings! HAH! Sucks to be stuck in there."
Every single teacher I had let the classes watch the news on TV (in Spanish class we watched the Spanish-language version of the news). Honestly, the severity of the attacks didn't hit me until one student in my class started sobbing hysterically when another bozo student said, "I'm so sick of watching this on tv, can't we do something else?"
It turned out that the student who was upset, her father worked right next to the WTC buildings and none of her extended family had gotten in contact w/ him yet. :(

All modern sound cards are good enough (read, perfect) for anyone that does not have a professional DJ set up, ten thousand dollar speakers, or something of that sort.
In that case, they'd probably use an external sound device via USB, but that's besides the point.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure the Mini and iMac both use Intel High-Definition Audio cards, which support digital output.
You can also adjust the Equalizer in iTunes if you're not happy with the bass, treble, or frequency ranges when playing music.

TMobile has awful coverage in the US. This is def bad news. :(
I've had TMobile for 3 years now, and I find their coverage much better than Cingular (my previous provider)!
Either way, I hope they have some sort of multi-provider approach for release, with their own private service for content. I want Apple to have 100% control over the phone, and not provider xyz.
Also, don't expect to see/hear about the iPhone from Apple until at least MWSF. And it will NOT be a silent release, so any "store down" means nothing for this product. Apple is going to flood the market with advertisements for the iPhone...they'll have to. I really think they're going to treat it much like they do iPods.

Besides a processor upgrade, the biggest upgrade from iphone 4 to iphone 5 is likely to be 4G. But is that guaranteed to be in iphone 5? I don't know.
Anyway, for people who find iphone 4 suits their needs, I doubt 4G is going to be a big sell right away. It seems to be available only in certain markets. I think unless someone is in one of those markets, there wouldn't be a rush to upgrade. Perhaps for those who want a better processor for gaming a need would exist.

AAPL up 3% aftermarket.
I think that was pre-announcement. I read where trading was halted until 4:50 EDT. Still have 7 minutes to see if the "soft" iPad numbers cause the weak hands to sell.
I'm guessing that Apple will drop about 3% from the 4PM close with people focusing on the iPad numbers.
Guess I was completely wrong.

Apple trying hard to combat the power of the HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy 2. White iphone now a slightly improved iphone. Nothing can stop the 350k phones sold every day.
Wow, they're selling 350k Sensations and Galaxy 2s every day?

I've noticed that these now don't work with USB DVD drives for the Bootcamp thing. Like you said this is a REAL drag for the Optibay crowd.
But as far as your MS issues go, try using Winclone to make an image of Bootcamp and experiment. Sometimes these things can be inexpicable.

I have a very convoluted home network. The route from Internet to my current primary system is:
Cable Modem --100MbitEthernet--> AirPort Extreme-n --WiFi-n--> AirPort Extreme-n --GigabitEthernet--> MacBook
When I do a speed test over Ethernet, I get 20-25 Mbps. (This is traveling over 802.11n WiFi to cross the house from one AirPort base to a second.) When I do the same speed test over 802.11g WiFi, connecting to the primary base station, 3 feet away from it, I get 10 Mbps.
That configuration could also be your issue. Each Wi-Fi link is only half duplex, so any packet you send can cause the receiving packets to slow (i.e. collisions). Running from one AP is likely not going to have the same impact.

In reference to 'iTV', Steve only said that "802.11" would be used for wireless communication. Currently, Apple employs 802.11g "Airport Extreme" in its products, but the lack of specificity may hint at an adoption of the upcoming 802.11n standard.
Am I the only one that thinks this is a lame looking sandwich box? Also, I have my stuff on my Mac in another room. That's switched on, whilst I sitting in the living room watching my stuff on a TV, isn't that a bit pointless? Why not make it hard drive compatible or even put the content on the box?
More money than sense, and not much sense at that. Big screen TV's are a rip off, and the so-called 'sexy iTV' is quite the opposite.
