3DMark 2011:

From browsing the results I'm apparently the only one doing this :(
I'm also not really sure if I have optimized drivers etc installed.

I also think Apple is going to be even more secret hush hush with the leak last year. With people thinking it might come in September (it might), people won't be hitting bars around Cupertino.

Thought it would (roughly) convey Steve's thoughts on all the leaks this year, using a hit that most people are familiar with.
Very clever! :D

I suppose if you have nothing intelligent to add, but feel unable to remain silent, the next best thing is to indulge in a bit of good 'ol-fashioned baiting.

Can Apple really stop TJ Maxx from selling their iPads?
I thought the Authorised Reseller Programme was just that: an "Apple-certified" or "Apple-approved" reseller? Surely any reseller who doesn't have this "sign of approval" still can sell the iPad?
I don't really know the answer to that since every store which I've seen here in the UK which sells Apple products are authorised resellers.
Sorry if it's obvious, it's just that the response makes it sound like only retailers approved by Apple can sell their products; sort of like a cease and desist threat.

I agree with most of what you're saying... but I think it's adobe's goal to push the most creative software on whatever they can. It's Apple's goal to provide the best experience for most people. Way more people are interested in using an iPad without a stylus - why sacrifice all those people for the minority of artists.
You want to draw, grab a wacom and mac.But if you want to go draw at the zoo or something, the iPad would make sense. Right now, pencil and paper are more convenient than a wacom and a mac for being mobile. I'd still like to see the iPad get to the point where a stylus makes sense for drawing on the go with it.

Versus IOS devices that can run 100% of the apps?
I'd like to see your numbers as well, as honeycomb is supposed to be where it's headed, and last I checked, there weren't record numbers of developers flocking to that iteration of the OS.
That isn't entirely true. iPhone 1,1 (and soon iPhone 1,2) users can't run all apps. Anything that requires 4.0 (probably 4.3~5.0 for iPhone 1,2) won't run. Neither will things that require a certain amount of horsepower (say like Infinity Blade).

I wasn't saying anything against donating blood, I commend that. I just pointed out that there aren't that many potential donors here to actively support that cause.
Please can you clarify your statement about the lack of potential donors?

I don't think this one has been mentioned.... I think Microsoft's Remote Desktop is a wonderful app. I have had my iBook for almost a year now and Remote Desktop was one of the major reasons I decided to delve into the Mac world. I go to a college with abundant wireless access and I can basically use my Mac as both a Mac and PC (Remote Desktop allows you to remotely log in to a windows machine). And don't just on me for this.....there are some programs at school we have to use that are Windows only....

She looks to be enjoying the VLC app ;)
I keep trying to change my wallpaper, but I enjoy the dark minimal look of this to much. Helps me focus on the things I need to do

i've tried to keep a picture log of the team's stats here (http://tville.thruhere.net/tw/index.php?a=topic&t=4414) on my own forum. you'll have to be logged in to view the pics.
basically, we had 132 million points back on 16 Oct and were ranked #60.
we got down to #57 with 202 million points on 20 July 2010.
and now we are back at #60 with over 256 million points today, and we will be passed within a week and will be #61

Yeah I had my computer shut down for the weekend but it's back up and running right now. I lost out on over 100K+ :(.
I might build another computer as I have a i7 920 laying around and maybe I can run another bigadv client. I'm also looking to purchase a home soon so I may be in a out a bit while I get re-situated into my new place. I also can't be spending too much on computer goodies :D
glad you are back up!
might as well put that 920 to use!
good luck with the home buy! i know how that can be! (i just bought one exactly 1 month ago!)
yeah i can't be spending too much either ;)

Porsche 930 Slant nose. Damn I just LOVE pop-up headlights....Also, Porsche I believe are the only ones that made decent looking 5mph bumpers back in the day that fit with the car styling...

This is great news if it means the end of mobile me. Die Mobile Me - DIE DIE DIE. Anything will be better than the self centered sounding @me.com. I simply will not use the email address in a professional context. Don't mind @Mac.com, and still use it, but @me.com sends the wrong message.

Just to emphasize the AT$T rip-off point, for new connections, check out the linked chart from the telco down under Optus
http://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocaportal.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Template_woRHS&FP=/personal/mobile/mobilephones/handset_details&site=personal&mt=handset_details&sort=d3e72a394f6196ccf6addc933bea2cdd213041e9f|24
For the $29/month plan with $18/month subsidized phone cost you're paying a total of $47/month over 24 months (taxes & fees included) for a total of $1128. Gives almost 200 anywhere minutes, texts incl in monthly total, plus free mobile to mobile on same account (for family) and 200mb each month 3G included. Only calls out are charged as part of your minutes, not calls you receive in Australia (so the above could be doubled).
Compared to AT$T, the min monthly payment is $40 for 450 min (call min both in and out going) + $15 for 200mb, plus cost of texts, plus taxes & fees is going to be min $60/month + $199 upfront for the phone = $1640 over 24 months.
With one for one exchange rate currently, that's over $500 diff for like 25 mins more in calls/month.
You could buy an extra phone as backup lol...
