Can anyone give an estimate, based off of previous releases, as to how long it'll take for a public release? I can't be the only one itching to jailbreak my iPad2.

Hello fellow snappers,
For my upcoming 18th I'll be getting a Canon EOS 500D, as I currently only have a compact and my dad agrees that an SLR would be a good investment for me.
We aren't made of money though, and in looking for the best deal we have found a significantly (12%) cheaper package on pixmania compared to amazon. However the supplied lens on Amazon is Image Stabilized, whereas the same lens is supplied on pixmania but without the image stabilization. My first question is, as I won't be able to afford a new lens for quite a while, is it important that I have image stabilization or not? I mostly shoot nature shots and stills for the most part but occasionally may have to capture action, such as my Dad's girlfriend's dressage competitions - am I going to have a problem with the non-IS lens?
Secondly, on pixmania it's advertised with an '18-55 DC Lens'... What does the DC stand for or what does it mean?
Thank you for your time reading this.
Cheers,
Tristan.

What is needed is a MacBoook Air with just 400 to 600 g and as small as possible (7-inch) with video out and USB ports. The Mac in your pocket!

Still surprised no replies (other than mine) to this thread. Thought external batteries would be a "hot" topic for MacBook Air's? Is this thread living in the right place/forum/sub-forum?
Also: still trying to figure out which external battery is "best" for me, thoughts welcome, thanks.

It's cute that people think Comex actually ever made a working Jailbreak for iPad 2.
I wish I could photoshop my way to 200k followers on Twitter.

Coleman, how does that help us if we have V1.1? It doesn't ;(. What we need is a cracked V1.0.
LOL I know but I can't strip the DRM since my iPad isn't jail broken. Either we find someone with 1.0 on a jail broklen iPad or we wait until an iPad 2 jail break comes out for me to upload it.

Hello,
For my Master's project I am looking to develop a WebGL application. The project will likely end up involving a huge amount of Javascript, and a small number of simple web pages (mostly to just act as containers for the WebGL). The Javascript will probably have an AJAX component.
My background, however, is mostly in the realm of strongly typed and compiled languages such as C/C++/Objective-C. Normally I use XCode to develop. I am a n00b when it comes to Javascript, though I do have some basic competence when it comes to web development.
So my question is ... what is the best (or what are the best) IDEs to use for such a project?
It would be helpful to have integrated debugging, but I imagine this might not be possible since I am going to be using WebGL. In the least I would want syntax coloring, as strong error checking as possible prior to runtime, good facilities to manage lots of files and revisions, and some facilities to speed up workflow. Any advice?

I'd say it's probably enough, yes. Unless you play graphics-intensive games...?
no games at all.
only working with the programs i listed and internet.

It's only a sign of Mac addiction when everytime your friends are visiting, you spend all your time opening and exposeing windows to show them how cool your new Mac is and otherwise ignore them. :p

That's already in Snow Leopard. :)
Not the new cool two-finger swipe where the new page slides into screen. And there are now additional choices for the three-finger scroll, I myself have it set up to drag the current window.

Don't think of a job interview just in terms of skills and knowledge. Try and put yourself in the head of the manager who will be your boss. The ideal candidate would be someone super smart, helpful etc... but a manager's fears when they interview are:
- the new recruit will need a load of supervision
- they will do or say something costly or embarrassing
- they will undermine the team, or fail to work with others in a positive and helpful way
So while you're answering questions and showing off your knowledge, also throw in stuff which will reassure that you're 'not that guy'.
