There are a couple members on there ranked as newbies - so they're not really all that active if they've been around for that long and have so few posts. But I guess it would indicate that they're at least visiting the site regularly.

Dude what the hell? For realzies?
Aside from looking ugly (it's only a prototype apparently) it's.... just a regular phone with PSP controls?
If this is a) real and b) a PSP successor they better make an iPod Touch-like version cuz I ain't buyin another damn phone.

I need to beef up my Javascript skills (just realized how usefull it can be :) ).
Does anyone here know of some good web resource on javascript (language reference, list of functions, etc)?
Cheers,
D.
I had this site bookmarked for javascript (http://www.javascriptsearch.com/). Hope you find it useful but then again google it should help you to find more of it.

Thanks. On the subject of editing. I know a track can be muted, but what about a region (section) without having to mute the whole track? Can a region be muted separately?

I was thinking of selling my previous MacBook and purchasing an 11.6" MacBook Air because I loved the size and the form factor is so portable it would be great to carry around. However I remember my not so fond memories of the Lenovo ThinkPad X100e I owned back in November and quickly shot down that theory. The screen was just too small for me, which is why I returned that unit pretty quickly. If the 13" had been in my price range, I would have jumped on that instead. I ended up buying another MacBook which has been great, but the Air is an amazing product and when I decide to upgrade again I will be getting an Air.

I turned on the TV just about five minutes before the second plane hit the WTC... before that, they were talking about a fire in one tower of the WTC, which would have been bad enough but could have just happened by accident. As soon as the second plane hit, I (and everyone else, I guess) knew that bad things were happening. Spent the rest of the day watching TV, surfing the web, and calling family. I have a couple of step-cousins who worked in the WTC complex and lived a few blocks away... one of them had the day off, the other was thankfully late for work.

Well... you could just go into photoshop.... and use the Paint Bucket tool to make your own color... save a jpeg.. and drag to make it your desktop. What color are you looking for?

Thanks for the replies. I could probably do this and create little swatches but I was hoping there was some button I could push or something I could do to make it bring up a color palate so I could just choose any color at a moment of whimsey. Seems strange that the OS would limit you do doing such a simple thing.

Aah yes. First year computer courses. I wish I was back there.
This year, my next assignment is to write what will pretty much be a complete game engine in less than a week. :(
Anyway, you just need to follow the directions on the assignment page.
Have 3 functions that return the appropriate values and setup the keyboard input with a switch case. Then call and print appropriate function/value.

for me it's in PS Elements, but the one used the most, and thus my personal favorite, is the Melancholytron filter. It has so many variables, a good preview screen and is totally reversible from the Edit menu.
The effects can go from subtle (for example, a slight vignette of edges) to sepia toning. It's a great filter when not overdone, and when overdone if you want to!

1)The who cares line...love it...great reply.
2)The nonsense you speak of is why Amazon is killing the iPad as an e-reader. Don't believe me? Go read the tens of thousands of comments about how hard it is to read a book (not a website....not an email...a book) on an iPad.
We have both an iPad 1 and Kindle. Absolutely no comparison for reading books...iPad just stinks.
Who said anything about fail? You need to ease up and stick to the comments otherwise you look like a fool. Too late I guess.
I would not say the iPad stinks as an ereader, but the kindle is certainly better for reading books. I have read 15 to 20 full length books on my iPad, about the same on my phone, and hundreds on my kindle.
I travel a lot , so since I got my iPad, I do not bring the kindle (I have a DX). I am actually considering buying a little one just for novels, I got the DX for PDFs, a function the iPAD is 1000000 times better suited for.
All three devices are better than a PC for reading books. The order is clearly Kindle, iPad, iPhone.
Would be nice if Amazon could get the kindle to support some of the multimedia book features they do in the iOS and desktop apps. I am not even sure of the kindle itself supports the real page numbers the other apps support.

Do you have Office 2004 installed? This brings huge font problems, so this might not have anything to do with 10.3.7. Just an idea.
Dont know about thie iTunes thing, though.

No offense, but you should be doing your own research. The idea of writing a research paper is to, you know, research. Asking people on a forum for sources is taking the lazy way out.

Hi,
maybe this approach will work for you: don't copy selection, just trim and export.
tell application "QuickTime Player 7"
set pb to front window
tell document of pb
set selection start to somevalue
set selection duration to somelength
end tell
trim document of pb
export document of pb to ("/yourFolder/imageName" as POSIX file) as image sequence
end tell
it SHOULD work :)
all best
