Hi there,
My iphone will not turn on, its able to connect to my mac, only in dfu.
After trying to restore itunes says: error 23.
Read a lot of forums but always whitout a real solution... Most say its water damage but mine has a different story:
Jailbroken, custom firmware 4.2.1 on baseband 6:15:00.
Used it for a couple of months, never opened cydia. A friend of mine opened the cydia app and it started updating. Then the iphone slowly died in 2 days:
First battery fast drainage and after the battery died it will not turn on again. Connected to usb power cable: able to connect to itunes in fdu: error 23
Anyone any clue?
Thanks a lot!!

I have a first-generation Airport Extreme n base station, that recently has developed something of a problem. The router works fine in terms of networking, internet access, etc.
The problem is it can't be configured. If I try to add a MAC address to the access list, add an Airport Express to extend the range, or set up port-forwarding to let me SSH into my machine, the following happens:
1. Click Reset
2. The router goes offline, says its restarting, but the Airport Configuration Utility never picks it back up. The status light flashes Amber, and while we can connect to the network, there is no outgoing internet connection - all the computers have a self-assigned IP.
3. Eventually, I have to reset the router via unplugging it. The green light comes back, all is well, but whatever changes to the router's setting I made are gone.
If I reset the router to factory settings, I have a window of about one restart to make all my changes, and then the same problem sets in.
Any idea what is happening? How to fix it? Or is my router just at the end of it's useful life?

its not creaking yet but it creaks when i push the plastic myself, im wondering if everyones does that.Mine does the same thing. Think about this for a second, it's a plastic part on a metal frame. The plastic Apple used for this part is not soft plastic, it's a harder type, so it will creak when pushed against metal.

The guitar rig mobile is designed to DI your guitar straight into your computer, the output from a mic, especially a dynamic mic like the Shure will be considerably quieter and if you simply crack up the input on the GRmobile you'll probably find that everything gets very noisy.
Have you tried this set-up yet? if so what issues if any are you having?
You may need to get a separate mic pre amp, but then that will give you a line level, which is probably going to be too hot for your input.

Just what the title says. I just ordered the clear iPhone 4 back from iFixit and in the article it says it looks better without the EMI shield, and I agree, but they don't recommend it. What are the possible problems it could cause by removing it, or are they just being over cautious?

Contemplating the same. Subscribed. Plz post pics of safe shield removal and comment on fit/finish/ease of install. Thanks.

For $350,000, Krell could at least come out with a better name than HEAT. God awful scammers.

My wife got in line at West Town Mall at 2:00pm. She says it's insane, probably 100 or so people in front of her.

I have a Windows 7 Professional .iso file (legally obtained) on my iMac. I used the file to set up a virtual machine with virtual box, but I decided I would rather use bootcamp (or at least try it) when I burned the file to a DVD and tried to set up Bootcamp I got a message that there was no bootable disc in the drive and I had to restart the computer in the Mac partition in order to eject the DVD. Is there something special I need to do to make the DVD bootable?
This is new territory for me so apologies if I am missing something simple.

Can someone please confirm for me what the stock hard drive was for the Powerbook 1.5Ghz 12" that was released in January of this year? That is to say NOT the new 12" with the 80GB drive...but I think it was a 60GB? I'm not sure but if someone could let me know exactly the type of HD, speed, capacity and manufacturer I'd be greatful! Thanks.

seriously, it could be bundled with new computers... apple provides everything else, why not a tool to get everything moved... i've not had a chance to see that switching software in use, but i bet apple could make it even easier :)

Hey guys,
I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to Mac repair. I did alot of PC tower work back in the day but I've recently been working on a MacPro tower for my student run TV station on campus.
Basically I plugged the machine in and before pressing any button it will click, the light will turn on simultaneously and it won't respond to the button being clicked. Also when I pull the power out it will click as it did when I plug it in.
So I figured this was some sort of power supply issue. After spending hours trying to find the right tool to get the heat sink off I pulled the power supply out. I looked in through the vent holes and it looked as if some sort of grey plastic had melted all over the internals. This was the second power supply for this unit and I found the first unit had the same grey matter inside but not in the same places.
Do you guys think it's worth my time to drop the money to get a new power supply or am I dealing with a bigger issue?
Thanks !
-Louis

Hi all,
Is there a way to make the slideshow automatically open up and start playing when someone clicks on a page? We are a design studio that want to have about 6 prominent pages like "Brochures" and "Books" etc, and when clients click on those pages it takes them straight to a large black page where the slideshow automatically plays for them.
Any ideas? This functionality alone is so important it is probably the difference between us using iWeb and whether or not we have to make the break and try Wordpress. Cheers.

Meh. Canadian airsoft are required by law to be transparent. I don't have one, but they look very cheap compared to black ones, even if the insides are the same.

Well in iMovie it would be pretty simple, import your song and pictures of choice and just click and drag the pictures and song into your timeline and go from there. I'm not sure how exactly you plan on doing it to the beat without a more professional editing software- somewhere along the lines of Final Cut Pro (or Express).
