Oh Gosh is this guy our version of the Dell Dude.
What? Err No I don't think he is!
Anyway I really wanted John Hodgman (PC) to take over the role of Mac - because he's switched!:)

This is almost as bad as powerbook g5 rumors.
Goddamn.
Shut up!
I dont get it. Is someone forcing you to read these rumors?
I propose that you have veto power over what is discussed from this point forward. If something is too cool or brought up too frequently youll be responsible for calming down and silencing the rest of us.

It's possible. It's also quite possible that NF's offerings will either get very much scaled back or have a big price increase after their current content contracts expire and they have to renegotiate (and end up with terms that are much closer to what Apple and others have as opposed to their current deal which gives them a big advantage).

Um regarding the SATA II thing: from this OWC blog page... (http://blog.macsales.com/10050-firmware-update-enables-6gbs-in-2011-imacs?APC=XLR8YourMac09)
So, relevant or not, happy now?:)
Some people on the Apple QA team are really clueless, don't you think?
How on earth could Apple accidentally not enable SATA 6 Gbps on a system if anyone on watch is paying attention?
Another embarrassing faux pas for the children from Cupertino.

I swear to God, I hope iDVD isn't gone completely but more integrated into iMovie or something along those lines. iDVD is one of my favorite applications in the iLife suite.
The 64-bit rewrite thing is pretty awesome though. Hopefully iTunes will be a part of that (doubt it though).
Agreed. The transition to 64-bit is long overdue and iDVD is a great application.

Just heard the news that ATT is planning to drop the unlimited data plan and offer tiers of data plans. Because some phones(hmmm) are using to much of they're 3g bandwidth. So you'll have to pay more to use more and not pay less for using less So much for ATT trying to redeem itself or cash in before the iphone goes to Verizon
If true, I would imagine it would only affect new accounts and renewals, those of us with AT&T already signed up with unlimited as part of the plan, they change that and it could make a world of legal trouble.

Wow!
$299 is SO CHEAP for a professional video/film editor. Amazing.
It is a total impulse buy.
Apple wants to bring in everyone to create video - kids, high schoolers, college students, film school students, parents, etc. etc. etc.

Horrible! I feel for you man. Why such a silly limit?
Bible belt.
There are a lot of places where you have to go to a liquor/package store to buy real beer because state law only allows supermarkets/convenience stores to sell 3.2% beer.

Apple knows what they are doing.
I use to have a motorcycle that had a magnesium alloy block. Believe me that block got a heck of lot hotter than any ipod or powerbook, it took an infinite more amout of abuse, and it was as light as a feather.
Bring on the Merom, Magnesium, Macbook or Triple M book.
That is what I said. Apple not to going to use pure magnesium. Pure magneisum is way to reactive. I said that it be some alloy. Magnesium alloys are good but people here are acting like apple going to use pure magnesuim and no one is stupid enough to use that. If they are they deserverd to be fired. Pure magnesuim is to reactive. An alloy on the other had is good.

From the us government travel page, advising visitors to Saudi Arabia that the country is under Islamic law and foreigners have been arrested for not dressing properly.
So what? They do it so we should do it?
That's 5 year old logic.

Restart your mac.
Thx for the hint, that did the trick. App works fine now. Great app btw.
At MBP restart the EyeTV 3.2 asked for WiFi permission. The update to 3.2 (btw failed the first time) did not require a restart of the machine.

What exactly is so "elegant" about requiring the disassemble of half the computer just to change out the GPU?
It's not meant to be user serviceable. It's sold as an "appliance". In order to achieve the slim profile and silent performance, the jigsaw construction is very similar to a laptop.
That said, the replaceable GPU is intriguing. The worrying bit is:
Making the LCD and glass spotless when reassembling the machine is nearly impossible.
I wonder if ThunderBolt is fast enough to allow an external GPU that exceeds the performance of the 6970m? Bus to external GPU. GPU to display via Target Display Mode.

The wearer may not realize that the sensor is normally on (it can be switched off), and that another person or monitoring system could track their location from as far as 60 feet away.
Are they serious? I can track someone from as far as 600 feet away, just using my eyes.
It would be impossible to spy one someone if you had to remain within 60 feet of them at all times...

I never thought of myself as an iMac type of guy. More of a MBP for work, Mac Pro for home.
But the 24" iMac is shaping up to be a great computer. 750 gig drive is sweet, 3 gigs of memory, huge display, and fast.
I always hated the wires and general visual mess of the normal desktop. Even in the age of bluetooth, there are too many wires.
I think the 24" iMac is shaping up to be a great prosumer computer. I'm seriously considering purchasing one now.
