Same thing on iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless.
What I can say is I can confirm it worked post-update without an issue, and it's definitely a today thing (at least for me).
The best was when I called Sirius|XM they gave me the phone # to Apple Support...
As someone who has helped run a Call Center, Sirius|XM's customer service is just so blatantly poorly outsourced it's beyond humor.

Have you tried setting reminders/alarms in iCal.
Works well for me.
I tried using iCal when I first switched over in '06. I integrated my Google calendar with it, but stopped using it because I often access my calendar in places other than my home computer. So I stuck with Google calendar and its "cloud" capabilities.
I know I can get MobileMe to access my iCal anywhere, but I rather not pay for a service when there's free (though shoddy like google cal) alternatives out there.

I think I'm missing something re: getting the new iPod software for my 5G iPod. I installed iTunes, and it tells me that mine is up to date with version 1.1.2. Is there a separate download that I'm missing?
I had to hit the restore button, then it finally showed that there was the 1.2 update. all is well for me now, search functions, games, and downloading a movie now to test.
- the games look incredible, mini-golf is really addicting!

I wonder how these companies got access to Apple's database. Why doesn't Apple keep better watch on it? And couldn't Apple just find out who's been accessing the database, and not allow connections from that source anymore? This all seems shady to me.
I imagine the process goes through a carrier outside of the US because many countries and carriers offer unlocks for their iPhone customers.
Possibly. But last time I was involved with that process, IMEIs had to be sent to Apple by Fax. Carriers never had access to an Apple Database at that point. Then again, this may have changed.

Concur. Never once saw a Zune.
I get the sense MS is scrambling to catch up. They are a software company, and Apple is a hardware & software company (and I'll concede in many cases hardware = gadgets). However, they are all driven by a few streams of software which they continue to improve upon.
I wouldn't say scrambling, a company the size of Microsoft can't scramble if it tried. What is happening, though, is that after 10 years of focusing on the Enterprise, Microsoft is turning its eye back to the consumer space and is realigning its strategy.

I mean I don't know if it has to get sent out or not. Apple Care and or the 1 year warrenty covers pretty much everything except dead pixels. The audio problem would be the major thing, and the keyboard problem is one of those "while you're at it" kinda things. So hope that helps.

Finder:
- Have an address bar so I can copy and paste file locations. Really useful to a developer, especially with working between the Finder and Terminal.
- Have a way of seeing how much disk space directories and their children take up, both with number sizes and graphically.
- Stop freaking putting every downloaded file in the bottom right of my Desktop, on top of the last downloaded file. Put the icon anywhere else on the free half of my Desktop.
- If I empty the trash, I expect to see that volume's space taken or available value update right away for its icon, on the Desktop.
- Tabbed Finder windows?

VPC is great for compatibility with easy-on-the-processor Windows programs (small database apps and the like), but if you want to play any sort of modern game, you won't get any kind of decent performance with VPC. I've heard of some people playing games from years ago with success, but as many will tell you, don't even bother to try .. it's just too slow.

So, I'm trying to connect my DirecTV reciever to an Airport Base Station that I want to extend my wireless network, which is configured using a Siemens Gigaset router for our Frontier internet.
In Airport Utility, I've got "extend a wireless network" selected, but when I try to select my specific wireless network, it says "the network you've selected cannot be extended".
So I guess my question is this: is there a way to make my Gigaset router wireless network extendable, or will I only be able to use my Airport base to extend other Apple wireless routers?

Just curious, I wouldn't think it would be but is the iPad 2 any cheaper at the University of Utah campus store?
No. The same price as anywhere else. They did however have every single model in stock, and no you don't have to be a student.

I hope the oil companies make huge profits too. Without them, I wouldn't have gas to drive to work. So what if gas is $5 a gallon, they work hard to get that oil out of the ground. Same for my electric company. They provide me with some high tech electricity to power my Apple products. And the supermarkets, for selling me food so I can survive. They truly deserve to make billions. Same for the health insurance companies. I'd like to see BCBS make at least 5 billion a quarter for providing my health care.

I have a 08 iMac and a new MBA. I use my MBA 95% of the time. Having a iPad and MBA seems more odd then a iPad and iMac. Since you are getting a free ipad I would consider pairing it with the iMac. My 2nd choice would be the Ipad+MBA+24" Dell display. Again this is just personal preference and it is really what you want :D

There's a difference to how something looks in Word on screen and how it prints.
If you anti-alias an illustrator file when opening in Photoshop, all of your line work will be anti-aliased, which means is will have fuzzy edges when printing. To have a sharp line picture from photoshop print well in Word, turn off anti-aliasing. Don't resize your work in photoshop with bicubic resampling, use nearest neighbor.
Work to the resolution of your output device. In the case of a laser printer approx 140ppi and above. Graphs and charts with sharp line work require more resolution (approx 300ppi) than photos which which can be rendered nicely on laserprinters at 100ppi.
You can also reduce the fuzziness of anti-aliased printouts by increasing the screen resolution to about 100lpi and above on your laser printer.
You can also produce vector type art which can be used in Word from Illustrator 10 by exporting to the .wmf (windows meta file) format. This is good for charts and line illustrations, but lousy for text.

Mona Lisa is a good one too.
has there ever been an MC with that style? I mean you want to talk about unique, Slick the ruler is it.
he's british, and he spent a lot of his life in jail after shooting his girlfriend in the eye...and he has more gold in his teeth than anyone.
But that style...what a flow. have you heard the track he did with Outkast?
it is so good. That is what hip hop is to me. Great flow, lyrically unique and challenging, and a whole lot of humor.
He is my all time favorite. I was listening to "treat her like a prostitute" when I was like 12...maybe that's why I ended up like I did...
"he opened it up with his bare two thumbs and seen crabs with spears and indian drums!"

I wonder how much of that 60B came from government-run institutions. You always whine about how people are paying for unions whether they want to or not - schools have to pay MS whether they want to or not (I can think of more than one case of a Linux or Mac school getting sued/audited by MS for not having a windows site license).
Chew on that. :D
