Not everyone agrees, do they? Many Mac "fanatics" prefer Word. This one prefers Pages.
I like Pages for small documents (<20 pages). It has very crisp text display and it is quite nippy in use. The exposed features are quite comprehensive in a single-user environment and the application is quite fun to use. I have yet to try Mellel's word processor however, that is meant to be very good.
It certainly doesn't have the quirks of Word, but it has its own quirks that can be very annoying. For example it wants to be Page Oriented, but then acts like a word processor within each Page, allowing you to have multi-page Pages (that the page template doesn't apply to). WTF?! I admit I didn't get iWork the upgrades didn't seem worthwhile. Hopefully iWork 2007 will be more tempting.
OpenOffice.org and NeoOffice/J are slow clunky embarrassments to open source. AbiWord, Gnumeric, etc, are far nippier (although the former is barely a word processor).
KeyNote is, of course, awesome. However there needs to be a KeyNote viewer application for Windows (and Mac), PowerPoint export isn't ideal, and QuickTime is a bulky tradeoff.

Any hard drive will work, you can format it to OS X compatible format in Disk Utility. You can create exFAT or NTFS partition for Windows if you need to use it as well.
Do you want capacity or portability? 2.5" drives require no external power supply which makes them better with laptops since they are plug&play. However, they cost a bit more and most top out at 750GB or 1TB (Seagate has 1.5TB though).

So, I've been searching for the best IEMs for many months now. I limited my budget to $200. But I am a value oriented person, so the less expensive, the better.
I have tried various options across many brands- from the lowly $10 SkullCandies to $400 Ultimate Ears Triple driver ones. Tried many big name brands- Bose, DrDre, Monster, Sennheiser, Klipsch, Ultimate Ears, Shure etc
However, none of them make me incredibly excited as the RE0s from Head-Direct.
For people who don't know about Head-Direct(I don't blame you, they are relatively unknown): HeadDirect/HifiMan is brand that produces the "RE" series of headphones. Their products are very highly rated by audiophiles for having the best value. I just recently purchased the higher end of this series, the RE0 for $80.
I must say, I have never known that music could sound so great. These are incredibly detailed, very crispy and yet extremely natural. The highs and mids really come alive from the music. Not recommended for bassheads though. It doesn't have the overpowering boomy bass like the DrDres or SkullCandy. However, it more than makes up for this - the bass is very tight and explodes with every beat.
These really are worth the $200 they used to sell for not too long ago. Very highly recommended
Honourable Mentions:
Over the years, I have tried a bunch of IEMs, and I just wanted to list the best ones, in case you were looking for something else.
$10 - SkullCandy Ink'D
People say bad things about skullCandy. I agree with them. But there is one exception, the Ink'd. These are the best $10 headphones I have listened to. Way better than their pricier alternatives. Good Punchy bass - A bit boomy. Treble/mids - Meh. But for $10, they are awesome.
$30 - JVC FX-66
These are awesome for the $30 range. Clear, detailed. Bass is good too. There are a few harsh treble notes that people may not like.
$30 - Head-Direct RE2 ??
I haven't given these a try but if they are anything like the RE0, then they will sound as good as the best $100 sets. Someone who owns these, please add your input?
$80 - Klipsch S4
These are at the same price point as the RE0. The only reason I would recommend them is the fact that they are very bassy. The bass is voluminous, also fairly tight and punchy. Not too great on the high/treble side though. But If you are into hip-hop etc, this might be a better option for you than the RE0. But IMO, the RE0 is a way better IEM.
I really have one thing to say about Bose/SkullCandy/DrDre. These really suck for the price. Sure they are better than stock Apple earbuds. And they do look very good. But these generally cost $100+ when they really should sell for half that.
I would like to hear what everyone else is using for their music.
tl;dr:
If you have $80 to spend and are looking for incredibly detailed awesome sounding IEMs, get the HeadDirect RE0.

Link?
I googled the function and clicked the first link and they directed me to this page:
http://simonwoodside.com/weblog/2009/4/22/how_to_really_url_encode/
I have no idea if this is true or not, I have not tried it yet.
EDIT:
I just tried it, and it does work.

Imo... i hope you're paying little or nothing for either. The intuos 4 is nice but I actually found that 3 is the most durable. So I would definitely get one of those (I have no.4 myself). If working in PS is your job, why not spend a little on this item?

Same for MacBytes: "Macintosh News, Headings, and Links".
An aside: The Apple home page, hot news page, and hardware and software pages together use the word "Macintosh" only once! But people browsing Apple's site probably know what Mac stands for.
Good thought, but I don't think this is necessary. When I search in Google, I get this:
"Mac Rumors: Apple Mac Rumors and News You Care About [...]
Description: Apple news and rumors with user contribution and commentary."
People who are looking for Mac things should be able to figure it out, in my opinion. If they're looking for something else, they should be able to figure out that it's not the right place.

Looks like they made off with iPads for the most part. Easy grab and high resale.
Apple will track these with no doubt.
Looks like an inside job and store had NO real security other than 2 lightly locked doors.

Wasn't there a rumor going around a couple months back about M$ making VPC free? That would make sense now if they're going to discontinue it, and let us PPC users have it for free. Who wants to pay for a product that won't receive any updates?

A relative has an eMac, and I've been using her Sound Studio which comes installed. Now I have bought a Mac Mini and was saddened to discover Sound Studio does not come installed. With all the extra bells and whistles my "innexpensive" mini came to $850+... you'd think they could have included this one program
Would there be a way to get this pgm into the mac mini off the emac installation discs? I opened the emac disc 1 on the mini and did the "go to folder" thing (/volumes/ disc name /System/Installation/Packages/)
to see the installation packages, but sound studio was not there among the dozen or so choices.
There was a package listed called "additional software" in the directory but I'm hesitant to launch that. For disc 2, I could not discern the right "go to folder" path to get it to display other than a pdf saying "go to disc 1."
Any ideas? Or is all this a bit risky/dodgy?

AppleInsider Article: "The filing is credited to four Apple employees: Nick King, Duncan Kerr, Paul Herbst and Steven Hotelling."
Is this the type of thing Apple does? Thought they had more control over employee/press relations...
The whole article sounds a bit overloaded with info - is it April Fools?http://forums.macrumors.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

I mean, I really doubt it is, it was in my pocket today when someone splashed water on me, but I doubt very much touched it if at all.
It's starting to get really weird, like the home button will work for a little bit and then voice control will randomly activate and then I'll lose control of the phone and it'll act like I'm screwing with the home button (the quick-start menu will pop up, it'll switch black-and-white mode, voice control, etc...)
Maybe it is water damage? I mean, the phone wasn't wet or anything, how would I know?
That would explain it though cause those symptoms come with water damage.
Check your moist sensors one is on the bottom of the phone where it plugs in and the other on the top where the headphone wire goes.

A semi-epitaph post. I picked up Metal Slug Anthology for the Wii on Friday and have pretty much not stopped playing. Just about as addictive as hell. I mean I've heard of the series and played the GBA game (eww) but I was not expecting it to be this damn fun! It's totally up my street. Co-op, stunning pixel art, silly, gameplay to perhaps even rival classic Mario games.
Anyone else got this? 7 near perfect games. I didn't even mind paying Gamestation's ludicrous 39.99.
When is 3D going to look as good as this?
