The apple ones are good. Pricy but better than you'd think.

Interesting indeed, I would love for the two companies to be in bed together... Interesting things for consumers might result. I see T-Mobile as a fresh alternative to Cingular... Plus, T-Mobile could use better designed phones, who better to hook them up with some Innovative ideas?;)

huh? i got my iphone 4 at tmobile and got it unlocked for 100 after explaining to them that i'll be uproad for some time and need to use a foreign sim. was no prob at all. u cant expect someone to use their sim in australia for example. ud be broke after usin the net for 5 mins ^^
I did the same right after i got my new iPhone 4 and they refused to do it referring to the 2 year service agreement. After 2 years you can unlock it for free, within the 2 years you cant at all...at least thats what they told me.
Lucky you i guess :D

Treo 650 has a low call volume. So? It's not a flaw that's specific to all mobile phones. My friend's phone is too loud!
And UI improvements. Well........Sony Ericsson is definitely king of mobile phone UI right now, Motorola being the absolute worst. I don't know what else Apple can do. I actually have an idea for how get 2 or 3 types of buttons on the front face of the phone without making it a slider phone, but that's really the only idea I'd like implemented that will change the UI. Otherwise, what you'll be getting is a UI from Apple that's similar to what you use now, maybe touch screen (gimmicky).
You know some of sony's phones are using Symbian OS, the same OS in most of Nokia's N and E series. I don't think touch screen is gimmicky at all it has some use but then again most of the phones with touch screen are some form of a smartphone, like the Treo, Sony 900 series, HTC phones and so on.
I had the Treo 650 sounds was fine nothing I would complain about. But then again there is a software called volumecare that took care of the low volume. And Motorola actually has a good interface but it is on their hard to get and pricey V3X.

This is awesome news, again it's brilliant because it states the iPhone 5 will be the same size as the iPhone 4, when I was at The Gadget Show Live on Friday I looked at all the new phones, the Galaxy S 2, the new Motorola and LG's the Xperia Play and Arc, the Nokia E7 (beautiful industrial design BTW) and I compared them all to my iPhone 4 and they were all MASSIVE and I mean MASSIVE next to the iPhone. And as for Acer's 4.8" beast........ I saw that too and thought it was a PDA or mini computer, not a smart phone!!:eek:
I believe Galaxy S 2 is actually lighter than iPhone 4 (and thinner too). So, unless pocket size is an issue, what's there to worry about?

Do any of these new ipods have a firewire connection??
If not..that's some BS
The 'old' 5G iPods didn't have Firewire.

Also, it looks like I'm the only one here with an iPad? Woah.

10:15am EST, OS9 & IE 5.1 -- both left & right columns not displaying on the front page. their space is still there, but empty. there's just white space flanking the middle column.
also, is this the best way to alert the powers that be of these design issues? (and, more importantly) do the powers that be need/want to be alerted about this stuff?

Hello! I am trying desperately to unlock my iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1 and baseband 03.10.01.
From what I am reading extensively online, it is my understanding that in the state of software versions I am in, I am kind of stuck in a rut! I am reading of other people upgrading software and baseband versions. I am nervous to try to proceed on my own as I understand that upgrading software/basebands are usually a one-way trip.
Is there anyone that can provide me with a solution to unlock my jailbroken iPhone 4? Should I upgrade to 4.3.2? Will that upgrade my baseband to an unlockable baseband like 06.15.00? (Is 06.15.00 even an unlockable baseband?) Please help!
Seriously appreciate anyone's advice on this.

I occasionally drive a Ford F350 SuperDuty diesel. For a truck, diesel is really the way to go. It can pull a house, uphill, with a headwind, in a snowstorm. No petrol engine comes close in the torque department, especially at low speeds. Noisy as hell and slow as a turtle off the line but that's not what the vehicle is about. Fuel savings are considerable of petrol equivalent in this vehicle.

Oh really? Care to enlighten me then grand wizard. You show me sources that broadcast in the deep color realm (30,36,48-bit color depths), and THEN you show me the displays that support that color depth. Why do you think there is such a big argument amongst displays/component manufacturers on the merits of HDMI 1.3. If Anthem, the maker of my $6500 Statement D2 video processor, didn't feel it was necessary to add 1.3 support, then I think that's a pretty good indication of the progress of deep color support. HDMI is the same exact thing in terms of video transport as DVI - smaller connector, with a different pin mapping.

8-bit(24bit) is plenty, for a long time.
...and besides, this discussion was about DisplayPort and it's usefulness, when we already have HDMI. Maybe you don't know so much about topic discussion.
I thought that this thread is about ACDs and I believe that they are primarily used other than watching broadcast tv.
There are already displays with xvYCC and it's gamut is so big that 8-bit colors will show banding. 8-bits are enough for ntsc gamut, but not bigger.
Next versions of bd / hd-dvd specs will include xvYCC and h.264 broadcasts will probably use xvYCC also in the future.
ACDs are also used a lot in professional video post production and there is need for more than 8-bit colors. Also high quality photography needs more than 8-bits. All DSLRs have had deeper color depth than 8-bits from day one.
8-bits is enough when display's real contrast ratio is about 300:1, but when we already have displays that have contrast ratio way beyond that, there is banding on a carefully profiled display. 256 brightness levels just isn't enough. That's why sdi has had 10-bits for a decade.
So there really is need for more than 8-bits with displayport or any other way. Even average consumers will notice that within a lifetime of a new ACD.
When I buy expensive high quality devices like displays, I want them to be high quality at least half of their life, not just now.

I've got one.
You choose from within the iTunes prefs what iPhoto albums to sync to the iPod.
You get the option to copy the full size image as well but the ipod needs to have disk mode enabled to do this (so you loose the auto mount / unmount).

I'll have to check my old Apple Catalogs.
I think it's their radio/cooler logo bag from the late 70's...
Anyone can buy them.

Totally
Can't even browse the web with it. Or listen to music. Or use 1000's of apps. Or look at videos / pictures/ books.
But you can play dodgy emulated games that crash within two minutes, run more than one process at a time causing out of memory error messages. Play divx movies that work at less than 10fps. Overheat your battery by making a wifi hotspot.
Ahem!
I've run several programs on my iPad at the same time without any hiccups.
AND those emulators you speak of work fine.
Oh and I have no battery issues.
Enjoy your walled garden!
