You're right, a pure HDD may have latency issues. But how about a hybrid one? Seagate XT Hybrid shows some promise in bridging the gap between full mechanical and full flash storage.
Note that the XT hybrid is a 2.5" system. A hybrid system for higher capacity 2.5" drives makes sense on a number of fronts. You can't get anywhere near the current 750GB limit for a single platter 2.5" HDD with flash based storage without running into astronomical costs for consumer units.
OTOH, the economics for a 1.8" hybrid system don't make much sense at all. The current TOTL is 220GB, which isn't all that far off in cost from what might be targetable in the next 6-18 months with SSD storage. By the time you've spent the time and money in engineering and developing a technically feasible hybrid system, the market will have already moved past you. Whatever company that would try to develop and sell this would be in a position of selling a solution for a problem that doesn't really exist.

I think this will make the iPad 3 very revolutionary. I think it will be crazy but i hope its like the 3d in the 3DS and not with glasses. But i can definitely see 3D coming to all iOS devices and eventually to OSX devices as the bridge between the two systems will become closer and closer as we go into into the future.

Well, this is one of those areas where we disagree on the historical evidence and the interpretation. I don't see evidence in the old testament that would support the view that it was written to support polytheism or that it was a re-writing of polytheistic accounts with the goal of popularizing monotheism.The god El was the chief of the elohim in Canaan. He is mentioned by name in the Old Testament. Several kings and patriarchs named their sons after him. The "War in Heaven", of course, is the "historical" account of El casting down all the other gods, and establishing his own primacy. The other elohim were retained in the form of angels. Notice how many angels' names end in "-el"?

I suspect this rumour is bull, but as a scenario, it might be present as an exceptional thing.
I mean, if it's not too expensive to implement, the capability might be there, but it wouldn't be your normal mode of interaction (touch screen problem); you'd have it come on, probably by software, when watching Avatar or Up.
It'd be like FaceTime: just because there's a camera there, doesn't mean it's always on and looking at you. And naturally there would be a depth slider: I think 3DS has shown that's a necessity.

Heh, my roommate tells me he's got a family friend where the husband and wife have figured out a good compromise (only works if both sides are actually decent with money ;) ).
If either buys an expensive purchase, the other side gets to also buy something of equivalent value. Apparently it keeps them in check about overspending cause they realize it will cost their household twice the amount of money and it stays fair cause both sides get to enjoy a purchase of their own.
My wife and I have a similar arrangement. I can have something expensive for my birthday. She can have her expensive curtains or sofa..etc. It works great and it is fair for the two of us. I got Adobe Photoshop Cs5, Audition and Lightroom and a Technet membership. She got cloths and a very expensive coat. I still don't know what to get for my next birthday. :cool:

They only come in glossy screens now? Damn... im a photojournalist and need color accuracy on screen and it would NOT be good if things looked to have more contrast then they actually do. :(

I'm so confused. My 15" G4 does match the battery model no, 1078. But, the serial number is no where close. Mine starts with W! Where in the world did they get 3xxxx??? Thanks.
Are you sure you're looking at the Battery's serial number? My Powerbook's number starts with a W, but the battery starts with 3K...etc.

These are some poor quality pictures captured by my camera on my Razor around 11:00 am today. Nothing too special, except the large apple logos plastered on the South and East side of the Moscone Center West. I acutally stood and watched them trying to get the 8+ story Apple decal straight. It was pretty funny. Security was lax (an old man asleep on a chair) but I didnt have the time to risk entry. You can actually look right into the conference area which I found odd, but I doubt there would be much to reveal as it is still only Friday. Well enjoy!
